I don't know. I'm glad I'm not normal. That doesn't mean I want a mental illness, but I don't like excess conformity, I like walking to the beat of my own drummer, and feel that unique challenges help me to continue learning, and therefore improving.
Thanks for this!

What does normal mean ?????

It’s just a word

Bipolar does not define my life.

I think being “ normal” would be boring

I'm not exactly sure, but it seems to me that they don't think deeply.

You're asking the wrong cast of characters. None of us are "normal". And that's perfectly OK.

I would like healthy thought processes more often than not, but not necessarily normal ones as that sounds dull! I do question how the last 15 years would be without mental illness of course.

I’m relatively newly diagnosed (4yrs ago) so I remember being normal. I ‘ve spent more of my life mentally well/normal than not.
I hate, hate, hate being mentally ill. If I could have my ‘normal’ life back I would in a heartbeat.

I’ve never been normal. Can’t imagine what that’s like.

Bah, who needs normal anyways

Being normal sounds like a drag

Not that I want to have full blown episodes or anything, but I don't mind teeny tiny blips and bumps; makes life interesting, I suppose. I don't mind it terribly.

I think being 'normal' can also equate to being stable at any given time, even though you have Bipolar. Many people, not all, have periods of stability between episodes, and I think that it's during these times that we get a glimpse of what it might be like to be 'normal.'

Normal is what you make it.

Stereotype of getting up, going to work, coming home with a measly paycheck is normal?.

I like who I am, but I do wish my life would have more continuity or stability.
