My P doc put me on Wellbutrin XR 150 about 5 weeks ago. Since then I've been embarrassingly clumsy. An hour ago I tripped and fell on my face in the drug store. The pharmacist ran over to help. It was so embarrassing. I've also been light headed when standing up, have bad brain fog, and sometimes I can't find my words. Does anyone else have these problems with Wellbutrin?

I am on 300 xr for ADD, and I don't experience any brain fog, but if I take Adderal %mg, I sometimes do have that experience. It's awful. I hope that helps.

I have them but haven't attributed them to Wellbutrin. Let me know what your doctor says, please.

Please do report this to your pdoc.
Falling can be very dangerous.
Please take care!

This exactly. It was worse when the pdoc had me on 300 mg. He lowered the dose but I still have the forgetfulness, sometimes to the point I worry I am losing my mind. I see the pdoc tomorrow, and I am asking him if I can take a different anti-depressant.

I was on a mix of Wellbutrin, Effexor, & Trazodone in grad school. I had to teach undergraduate microbiology labs a few times during the week. One day, I just lost my words completely, forgetting the names of very common micro lab equipment, and the students were filling me in so I would remember. At the time, I blamed the Effexor, but now I am thinking the Wellbutrin caused that since I am not on Effexor now and haven't been for years.

H is so concerned about my forgetfulness, he wants it figured out. I tell him the meds bipolar and fibromyalgia do it, but he is convinced if it is not that, I need to start seeing other docs and get it figured out.

I think he worries it’s early onset Alzheimer’s or a brain tumor or something. I don’t think it is that serious though.

i kinda think all the psych drugs = stoopid, over time. especially combinations. im kind of wondering if that's part of the point...

anyway, i had that on 400mgs/wellbutrin (sr), too, but I think it was because it was boosting my abilify blood levels way, way too much...mildly stimulated, over-tranquilized, stiff gait...fun times.

i dropped the wellbutrin. now, im thinking i'll just take abilify and tons of vitamins, antioxidants...hope for the day i can taper off and say buh bye to psychotropics.

My pdoc took me often the Wellbutrin today, and I see him again in 2 weeks. We'll see how things go.

I had the falling issue with too high a dose of propranolol. Definitely talk to your doc about that. Several meds have caused me lightheadedness when standing, I can't be sure if it's one, some, or the combination.

I agree, tell your pdoc about the falling. Mine was so weird, like I'd be walking or jogging for exercise, be fine and then fall like 30 minutes later. Once I fell into my closet (not a huge walk-in), and it took around 30 seconds before I could get my muscles to coordinate again and get up, which was bad, considering I'm in good shape physically (though a bit too thin), but a person who exercises regularly. Even went to see a neurologist after that, but everything checked out fine. It was just the medication.

I am hoping getting off this Wellbutrin gives me some energy again. I am so tired lately. Though maybe I'm just depressed or it's the fibro.

I only took Wellbutrin XR for a fairly short time about 9 years ago. It was destabilizing for me. That's all I remember about it. The only medications that affected me cognitively were Lithium and larger doses of Lamictal. I no longer take Lithium. I do take Lamictal, but only 100 mg, which is side effect friendly for me. My Tegretol XR does make me quite clumsy, but not cognitively impaired.

I had taken Wellbutrin, off and on, for many years. As of the last time, I honestly do not think it was helping me. I think it was making me feel worse. I was very glad to get off of it.

I am sorry you are having a tough time.
