Many of us have varied degrees of difficulty getting meals.

I have found it much easier to use my Crock Pot. I add ingredients in the morning and enjoy a hot meal at dinner time. This is especially appealing for hot meals in cooler weather.

I have started a thread under "Recipes and Healthy Living" in which we can share our favorite Crock Pot recipes. We can either type out the recipes and/or share links.

I hope you will participate.

I like chicken, sausages, pizza and candy.

if what I'm eating doesn't fit in to any of those categories you can count me out

I had set-up the thread early this a.m. It's a very busy day, so have not yet entered a recipe.

This "Crock Pot" thread is for everyone to share.

I anticipate adding to it all winter long.

Ooh, sounds good.

I bought a book for CrockPot recipes for low acid diets, but I haven't read it yet.

I used to make the best barbecue chicken wings in a CrockPot. No more, alas.

This is a very yummy roast recipe for the crock pot!!

Mississippi Pot Roast {The BEST Pot Roast EVER} - Belle of the Kitchen

You can also use chicken breast and cook them the same way that the roast is cooked and it’s yummy too!!

Super easy! I always use a crock pot liner and that makes it even better!!

Another cook’s friend: Fagor digital pressure cooker 6 qt starts about $70 on amazon. Cooks a roast from about 30 min for pork, up to 90 mins for huge beef roast. I use dry onion soup to enrich the broth. One pot meals always great and this pot doesn’t heat up the kitchen in the summer!

I’m looking forward to this. Thank you. I’ll be looking up recipes where I get my casserole ideas - Pinterest. I’ll work on finding something worthy to share.

Here is something that I do pretty often, because it’s very versatile and easy.

It’s basically meat and potatoes and I have another crockpot that I put a green vegetable in to go with it.

Wash and chop, in chunks, potatoes. I don’t peel them but scrub them with a vegetable brush. I also use different kinds of potatoes, depending on what I have or what’s on sale. I put those in the bottom of the crock pot, lined with a liner. The amount of potatoes depends on how many people are going to be eating, but you want enough to make a good layer in the bottom of the crockpot.

I season the potatoes with salt, pepper and garlic salt. Sometimes I add some frozen chopped onions and bell peppers for flavor and color.

You can put any kind of meat with/on top of the potatoes. I’ve used a pork loin, chicken, roast and cut up link sausage in chunks in the middle of the potatoes.

Sprinkle a package of dry ranch dressing mix and a package of dry Italian dressing mix over the potatoes and meat. Cut up a stick of butter in pads and place them in top of the potatoes.

It cooks on high for about 5 hours and low for about 7 hours, depending on the meat you are using.

If I’m using a pork loin, I like to season it and cover it with bacon so it doesn’t dry out. Whole chickens work great with the dressing powders presses in. Just was and pat dry and rub some olive oil on it before you sprinkle the dressing powders on. I cook the chicken breast side up.

I hope that’s not confusing! I don’t have a “recipe” for it, it’s just something easy that I wanted to share.

Thanks for your contribution!

I use my crock pot quite a bit. I have no "recipes" written down. I have almost always cooked by sight and taste. I would have to go through the motions and write down the recipes. I am tiring of the same dishes though, so I hope sharing will help all of us!

I love smelling the crock pot simmering for hours! It's like aromatherapy, esp. in the cooler/cold weather!

Thanks again!

Wild Coyote,
If I can get my s**t together (a big ‘if’ at the moment) I’ll put in some recipes. Do you want them put here or in the distractions thread?

Hi Pookyl!

I think many of us are having some difficulty getting our s**t together.
I'd love to have you participate whenever you are up to it.

I am hoping the recipes make it to the distractions category. I have a thread set up and we have some contributions there already!

Thanks so much!
I hope you feel better soon.

We are grateful, too, to members contributing on this thread.

If you'd like to move your recipe posts to the recipe thread, you can just copy and paste your post into the recipes thread at your convenience. (I don't want to take the liberty to re-post to the recipes thread w/o your permission.)

If you place your recipe posts in the recipe thread, the whole site can easily access them.

Your choice!

When I'm manic, I force myself to eat the same exact meals at the same times every day. If I don't I'll forget to eat.

I keep the meals the same because that means I don't have to think about it. It's just an automated process.

I cook large batches (more than 1 meal) every time I use a crock pot.

This might be an easier way if you prefer to eat the same thing every day.

By the way, welcome to PC!
I hope you find the information and the support you may be seeking.
Please do jump in and make yourself at home. It's great to have you posting!

I've made a large pot full of chili!

Everyone here had loved the aromatherapy of the chili simmering for a few hours!

It's getting colder here and this smells and tastes great!

I make large batches so I can feed members of this household, send some to the widower next door and have a few servings left to freeze!

Check out the recipes and ideas under "distractions," on the "Favorite Crock Pot recipes" thread.

I love my crock pot/slow cooker!
