Hey everyone. Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back from the hospital and feeling much, much better. No panic or anxiety attacks in at least 2 days. I was a hysterical mess the first 24 hours, but met a wonderful human, a fellow patient, who sat with me and helped color (of all things) and distracted me to help me distract myself. He left about 24 hours after I got there and st first I was really sad, but we had decided that forging friends ships with people you just new for 24 hours in the psych unit is probably not a good idea. I thank God for putting him in my life for that short period of time and I know that, if it's His will, we will cross paths again. Part of me prays that it will happen some day. Anyway, thanks to all of you who "listened" to me and offered me support. I hope to be able to return the gesture. Mary / PaintedTurtle

Welcome back! This was your first IP stay, right? I always warn people that it is normal to be pretty tired the first week home. I think it is adjusting from all the activity and routine that isn't always your own routine and even just fluorescent lights.

I'm glad you had someone to help the first day. My first admission I cried much of the frst day from relief I was finally there (long story) and fear. I had a nurse who stayed with me until I was involved in art therapy and settled down for a while.

Anyway, welcome back agan!

Oh no, Been hospitalized maybe 12 times in the last 25 or so years. Just never in a total lock down like this one. It was an adjustment. Sometimes voluntarily and sometimes not.

I am glad you are feeling better. Yes, you are right. It is not a good idea to make friends from the psych unit after hospitalization (and especially not boyfriends). Lesson learned the hard way. That should be lesson #1 of going IP.
