This was also my response to lamictal. I haven't been on it all that long and my diagnosis is still fairly new but after years of terrible depression and mood swings I have no desire to return to those days.

I am trying to get used to Lamictal.
I am currently trying to tolerate 200mg. I find it makes me quite drowsy.
I've gone as high as 300mg and was far too sedated and dizzy. Pdoc wants me on 300mg; no can do, unfortunately.

In my case, it is likely Lamictal is interacting with other meds I use for pain.

I hope Lamictal works well for you!

I'm not sure lamictal is doing anything for me. I am currently on 200 mg. The good news is that I don't experience any side effects at all on it, which is nice.

Although I started to feel better after being on 200 mg, but even at that dose, it wasn't immediate. I did not start to get the full benefit until my pdoc bumped it up to 400 mg daily. Luckily, I found the medication easy to tolerate, even on 400mg. Without Lamictal, I think I'd be in and out of the hospital constantly, so it has worked.

I know it takes a lot of time and patience and hope it all works out well for you.
