I am sorta ashamed to admit it, i am 34 years old woman, but i still do it. Some music is just too catchy. Especially when is think nobody is around (on pedestrian paths), i do sing along, even sometimes stop randomly for a impromptu dance.

(i cannot sing nor dance).

Not sure if its a bipolar think or music lover thing (my music collection on my computer is RIDICULOUS in its size and variety.). Music is one of my coping mechanisms, but the moment when i realize there is actually somebody on the pedestrian path, when I stopped, closed my eye and sing aloud Hanging tree and pose in "fighter" poses.... oh well.

Do you have such moments to share?

Absolutely, though I rarely listen to music on my phone. That's just me, abd perhaps a bit age-related. But I "car dance and sing" all of the time. I sing in the grocery store to the music tgey play there. I've been known to dance down grocery store aisles many times. When manic I talk to myself in public. Actually, I'll sometimes talk out loud to myself in public even when "stable". I really don't care that much if I'm heard.

I have an old ipod (listening to it right now on the bus). I *often* sing while waiting for a bus if no one is around, but will stop if someone comes up, even though I can sing quite well. (It just always sounds weird -- like, disembodied-- when I hear people do it, so I don't.) The best is on a loud busy road with no one around, I can sing as loud as I want.
It's very hard to resist singing to certain songs especially.

So yeah, absolutely. I think it's a music-lover thing.

I also talk aloud to myself a *lot*.

I absolutely do, but luckily it tends to be when I am walking or jogging outdoors (use an old cracked phone that still works but with no service since I have dropped & broken many phones falling), and I don't do it at top volume (with my voice I me, the music on the phone is pretty loud, probably damaging my hearing) and have managed not to at stop signs if I car is stopped there (though it's hard if it's a song I really, really like). I sing a lot to the radio int the car; that seems to get on my daughter's nerves when she is with me in the car as I am mediocre, perhaps even bad at singing.

I sing out loud mostly when Im up but my H told me I shouldnt. Im aware Im not a good singer but I feel like I should be allowed to do whatever I want so I still do it sometimes. There is a bit of a line for me though when Im not up at all I will sing much more quietly, although in my house and car I always sing loudly, and stop when I think people will be around. When im up I dont care as much if people hear me and I get louder, to the point of screaming sometimes according to my family lol.

Dancing is something I do all the time, I love dancing to where Im going, again it is just less inhibited sometimes but always there.

I always listen to my music full volume when I walk or run and when im up the volume is way up in the car too and even the house if I can get away with it. H and the kids dont usually approve lol

I think that is great and it's just a music lover thing

Keep on singing. I actually love when I'm walking and hear people singing so you may well be brightening someone's day without even knowing

I'm not the type to sing; but I am the type of person to have an impromptu dance party in my car if the song is good enough. There is also a Bluetooth speaker in our bathroom so I sometimes get my groove on during the shower. I hear my roommate singing early in the morning.

I a very musical, especially when manic. I find myself humming and singing out loud all the time and alot of times I go off singing around the house. I start singing to my dog differnet songs I quickly make up about her and my family thinks is cute at first but once the piano gets involved everyone makes me public enemy number one.

Keep singing. We live in a time where people should sing alot more.

I do all the time. In stores I'll sing and sometimes dance a bit too and only realize when people look at me funny. Lol.

Recently I had my headphones in and my whole family was staring at me. I asked them if my music was too loud and they told me no, I was singing. I dont even realize I'm doing it.

No embarrassment at all. For me it's a sign of being happy and we all need a little more happy I think.

If I know the song I'll sing to it. Life's too short to care about what anybody else thinks.

All the time. When at home, sons worry when I start dancing around because they think I am manic. Actually I am just hypomanic!

ohhhh even tho this is an oldie oldie thread oh my gosh am i glad to know i am not the only one who does these things!!!!
the singing, dancing, talking to & answering myself outloud all the time ... i think its the humming even im beginning to be irrated by it.... always on, always a very almost whisper " "buzz" .. of the same 10 "humphs " of the same last refrain of the same song .. iver and over and non stop like a stuck record. some one standing near me one time even asked me "whats with that sound of bees buzzing ?
its starts & stops totally on its own, it surprises me a lot of the time when i notice that i hear myself doing it.
the singing and dancing.. at work with no one around and alll the time while im driving..
i bounce around and dance in my seat .. hands and arms waving every which way...
talking to and answering myself outloud ... its an all the anywhere the occasion calls for me to discuss or debate or agree or disagree or confirm things with myself to be sure i got it all settled 1st before i act on it..
but you guys all know this because now i know that you are some of the other people out there who do all of this too! whew! thank you thank you thank you ..

I never do this, but once I accidentally played music out loud in a library for about 1 hour. I had my headphones on but the computer decided to play the music through its speakers instead, and I didn't notice. None of the other people there said anything, they just kept glaring at me, the jerks. As if I was sitting there on purpose playing music out loud while wearing headphones.

Accidentally? Absolutely! Deliberately? Sure, that, too. I am really not self conscious about such things, even though my singing voice isn't good. I also dance in public. It's not like they are going to arrest me or anything. People usually smile. If anyone thinks I am nuts, so be it.

I find myself humming stuff all of a sudden and on accident. With no music on.

In high school I accidentally started humming a Katy Perry song and my teachers aide who I was very close with joked and said “oooh. Your humming the daisy dukes song!”

I just found out the other day what daisy dukes were.
