I am only a week away from being off Seroquel. I previously took Depakote and then Zyprexa. On these two meds I"ve gained 60 pounds. What are the chances that I will lose some of it going off the Seroquel? Nothing is going to replace it. I have metabolic syndrome, though, so I feel like that's going to keep me fat. (I have lost maybe 5 pounds recently.)

Not sure, but I hope you do. Depakote and Zyprexa were real weight gainers for me, too. Seroquel not as much. I find Seroquel XR a bit friendlier than regular Seroquel, especially at doses of 450/400 mg and below.
I have no intention of going off Seroquel XR, but I recently went from 600 to 500 mg. I feel a bit peppier, motivated, and with a smaller appetite. I'll lower my dose in my signature the next time I see my psychiatrist, if he keeps me at 500 mg. I hope. Good luck with your final Seroquel reduction! |

I’m the the metabolic boat and I swear it’s taking on water.
![]() I’m sure my ED will kick in after the holiday and we are back home and I’ll lose it the unhealthy way , but I’m at that point. I just can’t continue this current weight any longer. Hopefully I can get back in the swing of walk in the cold winter , so hard to do , once I have a mile done I’m warmed up and have no problems going further. Metabolic syndrome sucks a@@ for reals.
