People make new year resolutions … Can you think / look / plan for the entire year … for me it is more like the next weekday … weekends are a little better … but a whole year … never …

Just wondering if I am in the majority or minority … not that I don’t dream … I just don’t believe in putting my head in the sand …

Sorry if I sound like a downer … but I know it is unlikely that my meds will not change and my coping skills come and go just like the weather …

Lately my physical aches and pains are increasing a lot … add emotional stuff at work and else where … plus the anger , and self esteam issues … just makes me feel this coming year won’t be any better than this year …

sorry , holidays are allows tough for me …

I know I am early … but happy new years …

Tigger …

Thanks, happy new year.......just take the year one day at a time, trite saying maybe, but true

Think/look/plan for an entire year?
No way. Me neither. I'm pretty much just in the moment. Maybe a day or a week, but goals, not so much. Vague at best.

I do hope you have a better upcoming year, Tigger.
Thanks for this!

It can be a downer to have unrealistic goals too (once the mania ends and you come back to reality) so maybe not such a bad strategy. Your posts are never a downer.

Hope you enjoy more good days (were the aches and pains aren't that bad) in 2019. Happy New Year Tigger!

Tigger …

I hate the idea of "planning", in case it all falls through and then I'm left feeling like I've failed.

sometimes even living day by day is too much for me and I have to live minit by minit. sometimes it's the best way.. because you're garanteed what you set out to do.

as for this year, well I don't hold much hope for it being a good year

for one I don't currently do anything with my life (or even know what I want too do)

for another I still don't have medication that works

and thirdly.. the last time I had a sort of deecent year I was 8

so over 20 years ago

for me it's a bit like groundhog day (or in this case groundhog year)

the only thing that changes

as far as it goes for me is the number of the year.

Thanks Tigger, same to 'ya.

I have a friend in the hospital, really really delicate, and I forgot today was my anniversary.
I promised to visit him tomorrow (4 hrs away), and he remainded me tomorrow is new year's eve. And told me not to go.
That aware I am of what surrounds me. Of course, being retired helps.

Cheers.
