I have heard it said that "Without challenge, there can be no accomplishment" That we have a duty and responsibility to meet and overcome that challenge.

I find it peculiarly funny that this notion seems to be entirely a one way street.

It comes from a position of authority.

But put that challenge to the street in the other direction and suddenly an whole different expectation is set. And that sense of duty and responsibility disappears.

I do think we all need some "challenges" to keep us going. Otherwise, I'm going back to bed!

I understand how you feel, Gorgias. Yeah, some challenges are necessary in our lives, . But it can definitely become overwhelming, and often we can lose track of what's really important to us. Sending many hugs to you

I am not at all questioning the need for or existence of challenges. There is a real problem in the world today. And it is not me, nor do I make claims or believe to have some sort of secret knowledge which I feel is being projected onto me.

There are people in this world who know better, have the capacity to act and yet refuse. I would really like to know where the hell all the philosophers are in this world today? We need a lot less Machiavellian and a whole lot more of Socrates (Plato).

And if this is the best world that we can create, and it is I who am expected to change and accept all of this than all I can say is screw it, I do not want to exist in it anymore.

Nowadays simply a platitude.
