Hi everyone,
I've been taking 7.5 mg of Lexapro (5mg + 2.5mg) and 100 mg of Lamictal and I accidentally took two of each last night. So that ended up being 12.5 mg of Lexapro and 200 mg of Lamictal. Has anyone had this happen? I'm not too worried about today, even though it may aggravate a stomach condition I've been having that leads to some heart palpitations (they did seem a bit worse last night after the double dosing). I'm worried that after resuming my regular dosing I might feel withdrawal or insomnia, or that I have screwed up the balance for a while. Any feedback is appreciated, especially on what I could expect tomorrow and a few days from now. Thank you!

Hi Musician1980. I think the best person to ask about this is your pharmacist, or your psychiatrist, if you think they'd respond quickly. The pharmacist should be available when you call, hopefully.
I don't know your situation with your stomach condition, but I would lean towards not being too worried otherwise. I sort of doubt extra Lamictal would affect your sleep and also doubt there would be any withdrawal at all from that. I'm not really familiar with Lexapro. I took it only very briefly about 17 years ago or so, before my bipolar diagnosis. The only thing I remember about Lexapro was night sweats. |

I have done this before. The next day just take your normal dose. Check with your doctor if concerned.

Thank you, BirdDancer and winter loneliness. We're not sure what is going on with my stomach and heart palpitations, but all of my heart tests have come back normal & good. I can feel like my heart is pounding after I eat and be lightheaded/faint for a few minutes. Since this tends to occur most after putting anything in my stomach and has been accompanied by a lot of burping, it might be vagus nerve or hiatus related. Not sure yet. It all started when I got a period of migraines after 3 years without them and the toll it took on my body & my sleep was insane. Was also the first time I had migraine on Lamictal and the symptoms were strange. All of the vomiting that comes with migraine could be responsible for the stomach changes causing palpitations. Fortunately, I haven't posted much for the past two years since I've doing that well. Life is so much better when my mind is not on BP or medicines, etc. and instead focusing on the things in my life I enjoy. We can all probably relate. Best to you! :-)
