Things I don’t do anymore. It’s a long list. First on the list was getting dressed every day. I decided to work on this one. First day I showered, did my hair, put on some jewelry and a bit of makeup. I got dressed and put shoes on. My husband was a little worried about the change, and I was anxious too. It’s like being dressed set the bar higher. Wearing my bathrobe everyday is the uniform of an invalid, but getting dressed shows purpose and readiness. I had an anxious feeling in my chest and tummy all day. My husband called three times from work, fearful maybe that getting dressed was going to propel me out of the house and maybe out of his life. Change. It’s hard for everyone lol. Today was day two and I shaved my legs. It feels good. One day at a time.

Good for you !

If I have no where to go I never get out of my jammies.

My husband use to laugh at me “ how can you not get dressed everyday “ I said I am dressed I just refuse to wear a bra and tight clothes if I’m not going anywhere lol

I think mine needs to be

"have a positive attitude at the start of the day"

I used to, " look forward", to the evenings, because I knew soon it would be a new day and their'd be new experiences/ oppotunities

however now I don't have that attitude and it's like oh no, not another day

I too get dressed daily, shower every other day though. It makes me feel better being ready for the day.

By showering and getting dressed in the morning, I’ve noticed that the late afternoon walk with the dog doesn’t way as heavy on me because I’ve already gotten the first two steps out of the way.

for me it comes from my hatred for sundays.

when I was a kid, and I don't know why, it used to irc me that sunday was "rest day", and that by 11 in the morning I was still the only one in the house up and about

so that's why I guess I'm motivated to do it, even if every day is the same
