I seem to fall into my deeper depression during the evening time more than the rest of the day. Is that something that is common with anyone else? Do you get into different moods during different times of the day?

Yes. Not so much now that I'm more stable on meds but I used to have that a lot. It took a while for my therapist to realize that what he was seeing depended on whether he was seeing me early or later; I remember talking about that a lot in our first years together.

Thank you for telling me that. I can't understand why the evenings are worse for me. I'm glad it's something that happens.

Evenings are usually worse for me too. I think it's because my Prozac has worn off or whatever amount of caffeine I had in me is gone and I'm now facing myself and going to sleep.

It happens to you also? It started to remind me of sundown syndrome when someone that has Alzheimers' their behavior gets worse in the evening time. It must happen to alot of people.

I think I've seen some research on it. I'll try to look later and see if I can find it. Something about bipolar affecting body rhythms or something?

Turns out that a lot can be cycling besides mood in rapid cyclers.

That is so interesting BeyondtheRainbow. It sounds exactly what I go through different times of the day. My real early mornings are filled with stress and being scared for some reason, then I get better during the day then the evening is my bad depression until I go to sleep. Some days are worse than others. My parents would always get mad at me when I was younger telling me to stop feeling that way and start thinking positive. They had and still have no idea what I'm going through.

Everything is worse for me as the day goes on right now. I can actually ignore most of my symptoms during the day... its later on that they really cause problems

My T called it the Sundowner Syndrome as well. Apparently we get exhausted just getting through an average day so our mood and frustration in crease at the end go the day. Of course when we're in a episode it becomes a millions times worse. This doesnt happen every one though.

For me it’s the opposite. The morning is my worst time of day and I improve as the day goes on.

I'm so sorry, tmg4me You're definitely not alone in this, as this thread has shown. Unfortunately mood swings can be quite common, although the time periods may vary. But what you're experiencing is definitely not uncommon. If this bothers you so much, I'd suggest to talk to your Pdoc about this and see how it goes from there, if you haven't already. Hopefully he/she will be able to help. Perhaps there are some meds that could help you. Do you see a therapist? Maybe that could help. You could learn some new ways to cope with your feelings as they get worse during the evening. I hope you'll get the help you need. Remember that we care about you. We all love you. Feel free to PM me anytime. Let me know if I can do something to help you. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

I actually have an appt tomorrow afternoon with my Pdoc so I'm hoping she can either add to my medication or increase what I'm already taking to help me. She needs to help me with my anxiety and increasing depression.
