Hello wonderful people!
When I was in hospital very recently my Lithium and Lamotrogine were increased significantly. I don’t have the dreaded rash but over the last week or so I have noticed a series of very red small lumps, and some look kinda like acne. I have never had this problem before so it is most likely med related. A Lithium, thyroid level was done a week ago but I didn’t ask about the results. Before the 450mg increase my levels were 0.7 so they can’t be too bad.

See my pdoc Tuesday. Just thought I’d run it by you guys. It’s only on my arms.

I got cystic acne while I was taking lithium.

It cleared right up when I stopped taking it.

It could be from the Lamotrigine. I got all sorts of rashes as I was titrating up. I had them checked and they were just rashes and they cleared up about a week after they appeared.

Try to avoid changes in your diet ( like having food you've never tried or rarely have), the soap you use and your laundry detergent until your med doses settle down.

I have never tried it, Wander, so unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice to give to you. I'm glad you're going to see your Pdoc soon! I hope he/she will be able to help you. It must be very annoying to deal with acne, although I suppose there are much worse side effects. I agree with what all the others have already wisely said. I agree with Scooter9 in particular. Try to keep an healthy lifestyle to avoid any problems. Eat well, try to sleep regularly if you can, ecc. Maybe that could help. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

No clue but lithium had all kinds of side effects though. You definitely should bring it up to the Dr.

Just weird they are bright red and only on my arms. I am actually hoping he will reduce the Lithium dose as I was fine on the lower dose and hate being on high doses. Although my health has just massively turned around for the good so I don’t want to mess with that(although could’ve been the addition of Geodon) I will get back to you Tuesday.

I’ve never had a rash from Lithium but I’ve had one when I tried lamotrigine. I’d let your dr know asap.

I’m on 1200mg a day and i have pretty bad acne that i didnt have before. Mostly back and scalp with some upper arms. Only other meds i’m on is remeron and wellbutrin right now and i’m pretty certain its not due to those.
