still waiting to see my doctor for a new med change. my doc is considering taking me off my mood stabilizer, geodon. I've been cycling a lot lately. has anyone had success with abilify, celexa or latuda? he is thinking of putting me on one of those. these cycling episodes are taxing. they leave me very tired, anhedonic and the manic depressive episodes are becoming frequent. sometimes I want to crawl under a rock and stay there. any feedback would be great. take care everyone!

Geodon is an antypical antiopsychotic that is used for mood but isnt technically a mood stabilizer. Have you ever tried lamictal? I take: cymbalta, lamictal, latuda, geodon and buspar.

didn't know that about geodon. thought it was a mood stabilizer. thanks! I am on 100 mg of lamictal currently (morning) and at night I take 50 mg along with 15 mg mirtazipine. I also take buspar (30 morning and 30 night) and geodon (40 morn 40 night). my doc did suggest taking me off the geodon and putting me on either latuda or abilify. I haven't looked into cymbalta. I may mention that one to my doc. thank you for the info and suggestion. much appreciated!

I was on Latuda as both mood stabilizer and antipsychotic (though it’s mainly a antipsychotic). It worked well but I had akathesia after a while and had to come off it.

wow. akathisia? darn. latuida was being considered as a replacement to the geodon I am taking. I have yet to have a side effect of akathisia on any of my meds, though I will bring that up if my doc prescribes it. thanks!

I've been on Latuda for 4 years and the only side effect I have is dry mouth. I also get really drowsy an hour after I take it so I take it before bed.

I think it's working even though I'm depressed, I suppose I would be worse off without it.

Abilify and Latuda were an abysmal failure for me. Abilify was too activating and Latuda caused an aparadoxical reaction.
Combo of Lithium, Saphris, propranolol, Seroquel XR are my ‘magic’ potion.
