I take 6mg of artane a day as a side effect med for the 65mg of haldol I take.

I hear a lot on here about cogentin.

I was just wondering if anyone was on artane and it caused serious constipation issues! Also if it caused weight gain. I'm blowing up like a balloon. I'm busting out of my pants! I went from 125lbs to 140 in just a month, without changing my diet at all. I'm freaking out here.

There are many antiparkinsonian agents and yes, cogentin is the most popular on these boards. Have you tried it? You might need to try different agents now, before the weight gain gets completely out of control.

I was because Cogentin made my brain feel like mush. It was fine for a while, but I ended up changing the med I needed it for and stopped using it.
Thanks for this!

I've tried cogentin but it made my vision blurry and made my brain feel like mush.

I know! But it works and completely got rid of my psychotic symptoms. Doc and I are going to have a chat about it tomorrow though to see if we can cut it down a little as it's made my short term memory really bad.
