a thumb nail view but really not a bad video ... give me your opinion of your issue and how you think it was presented ...

Thanks for sharing. I live with unipolar depression and PTSD. I don't think he really covered either but I didn't watch the entire video.

I did want to say that I don't actually believe that some humans are "crazy/mentally ill" and some are "mentally normal." I think we all reside along a continuum of mental wellness. Our place along the continuum can shift over time with life events such as a death in the family, new job, trauma etc. There are a few doctors who agree with me but many don't. I think dividing humans into "normal" and "cray cray" is the biggest barrier to improving mental wellness for everyone.

I do not tell most offline friends that I have depression or PTSD. When I told one about the depression, he responded: "You're kidding, right? No way you've actually been diagnosed with something like that. You're not sad, you're fun!"

I told a different friend about the PTSD. He replied: "I just don't see how you could have that, I mean you're successful. You work. And you're not mean to other people."

Interesting, right? Those were my last experiments with opening up to friends. haha Onward with the double life!

I thought the video was pretty good but didn't agree with his characterization of bipolar including 'easy to treat' with medications, and a few other points.

that's the point ... don't you think most people feel that way ... it is the pop culture way ... take a pill and the world is all good ...

I told a customer once that I was bipolar ... her first words were ... your on your medication right ...

I agree medication helps but it is far from the whole story ...

I’m with the other posts. Bipolar was represented in a very cliched way, and dumbed down by only mentioning the high functioning people. At number 10! Less ‘crazy’ than the hair pulling or specific phobia for example. All of the illnesses were described poorly. It seems this guy has googled a few sites and never talked to people with more severe forms of these illnesses, or read a peer reviewed paper. To be honest this video ticked me off. Same stigma packaged as real information.

I can only wish being med compliant made everything easy peasy. Bipolar is hard.
