I am learning the hard way that accommodations at work just make things worse. My boss is misusing a form I have and is now harassing me about my work. He has taken the form totally out of context and making conclusions that aren’t there. We have a new EEO person so she wants to take everything slow.

I just want to scream. I thought things would get better.

Yeah I look but am not finding anything that is less than an hours commute. But it is slim pickings out there. My boss still hasn’t emailed me back.

Of course when you need your T the most they are on vacation. I need to finish this write up for my boss. Having trouble concentrating though.

Well I turned in what my boss wanted. Let’s see when he gets back to me. So am I going to get fired or demoted?

Your boss honestly can do whatever they want.

Employers always know what loopholes can be found to let go of any employee. Very unfair but it happens.

Hopefully you can find a new job before they have time to take any action.

Hang in there

Supposedly he can’t retaliate and by singling me out when I can name at least 5 other people in my situation but he isn’t questioning any of them.

Got an email back from him. Saying he wants more examples and more of an explanation of what I do. I gave him 15 examples of things I do. I gave him a bunch of files. He said don’t take anytime gathering the stuff now he wants more. So I told him I need a budget because it will take time.

I am about to go home for the day because I have no billable work I can do. I have 4 programs that are having money problems so I can’t work on them and a project I am supposed to have hours on I was told not to work on it today. This is getting ridiculous. Also found out what I have known all along. I am the lowest paid person at my classification. People even the classification under me are making more money.

Our families are here. It would be really hard to move. I got a few job leads but they were all out of state.

A friend gave me 4 hours of work this afternoon so I was able to stay. My boss wants to know what work I am doing now but I have told him many times it is all temp work so it is comparing apples to oranges. I am just screwed and won’t be getting a raise for a third year in a row.

I would say dial back your combativeness on the job. No one is productive constantly battling the issue of your accommodations. You are highly intelligent. You know this, yet you turn everything into a battle. I still say you should be an attorney, a litigator, because they battle with words for a living. I’m not idly joking about that-my brother is a litigator and there are other jobs like that.
Any organization is going to repulse something that in counterproductive. The drama is NOT NOT NOT good for you. You should cut back on the drama—you dont have to roll over for them. Just reach for a less combative situation that fits you better.
