Heard a news bit this morning about the new Dora live-action movie where she's a teenager. As they were explaining how they came up with the xcharacter and the show 20 years ago- I started to tear up and I got sad and tears started rolling down my cheeks! WTH??

Was she something one of you children were into ???

Unfortunately Barney was my daughters “ thing” I’m not sure how I survived it to be honest. lol

But every once in a while I come across that big ugly purple dinosaur and think back to my daughters total joy of that show and I have gotten choked up.

No they weren't into Dora but how could they miss it? That THEME song.

And I agree, Raging Vortex- what was Swiper "swiping"- he never listened to her anyway!

Barney was big when my eldest was 1 and 2- so were Teletubbies- and they barely could talk.

My sister was a Dora geek and she was obsessed with custard because of the teletubbies

I liked Barney a lot. I had Barney and friends stuffed animals. Also loved Elmo and big bird.

If you want to see something horrifying, look up “mr blobby”. It’s a british/uk kids show that’s kinda like Barney, except it gives me nightmares and I don’t know how kids could watch it. It should be a horror show.

Lol Blue- Mr. Blobby- just the name is horrifying!

That theme song is grotesque- but I gotta say- the children's choir could sing. Must be a UK thing.... Mr. Blobby himself looks like he's got yellow spotted fever.

I don’t know how parents in the uk were ok with that, but whatever floats their boat. I think the character on its own is horrifying enough

all he does is watch tv, and play on the playstation
