I'm looking for ways to kill time while hypo (and hoping to stay hypo by staying calm).

My new way to keep my brain busy is Spanish lessons free online through Duolingo.com (they have lots of other languages too). I've done a lot of lessons. They don't require a ton of concentration because of how they set them up and using a review feature I'm learning slowly but surely. I'm sure I am not going to be fluent or maybe even understandable but I don't care, it's just fun. My mom is learning too so we throw phrases back and forth.

What do you do?

I listen to music or do arts and crafts. I used to read a lot more than I do now. My concentration is pretty bad right now. I also sometimes bake.

I like listening to music, reading, or watching tv. I also like surfing online but then there's Amazon- I spent $40 the other day to get these books. I need to watch spending, but I think these will be good reads.

Writing. Even if it's absolute nonsense. I have a file on notepad that's called "Not a poem just rambling" and it makes zero sense but every time I'm hypo/manic and want to kill time without killing myself I'll spend anywhere from an hour to the whole day adding to it.

I like to have soothing sounds playing in the background while I do something like sudoku, coloring, drawing, etc.. I can't read with music going on (well, my concentration is bad in general), but you can try reading with soothing nature sounds if you prefer that instead.

Also, what about scents? I'm talking about ones like lavender and warm vanilla. You can have those going on as well with the music and activity.

I play Warcraft, watch TV, play with my parrots, do house stuff, take care of my mom, play with my son, that's pretty much it.
There's probably stuff I am leaving out but that's all that comes to mind at the moment, I have trouble with words and thoughts.
I can't really stay focused on things.

Learning Spanish is something I was planning to do, then got distracted, thanks for this post. I find listening to music and learning a new musical instrument to be good distractions, also reading, colouring, drawing, possibly baking...
