Just some stress relieving tips I've come up with or noticed:
1. If you're stressed out about grocery shopping, consider using *FREE* Wal-Mart grocery pickup at your local Wal-Mart SuperCenter (if available). They only let you book one day in advance, which means if you don't see any openings today, try looking tomorrow morning between 4am and 6am because you're almost guaranteed to find something. This is a great option because most grocery delivery services are booked out for WEEKS, which means getting delivery isn't really an option. Plus, at Wal-Mart, THEY ALL USE MEDICAL GRADE GLOVES AND IT IS CONTACTLESS. Just pop open your trunk and they put the groceries in there for you. 2. At the start of each day, create a "to do" list, whether it's a mental list or something you write down. Just take a few moments to think your day through. 3. Talk with people remotely though video. Consider using FaceTime, Skype, or Facebook video chat. It's one thing to talk to someone over the phone, but it's another thing to to see them. 4. Set up additional appointments with your therapist or pdoc, if talking to them makes you feel better. You don't have to meet with them in person; you can just use a video chat service. (I know, it's not the same, but it's better than nothing.) 5. Exercise. (See my other thread here: Reminder: please get exercise, whether it's indoors or outdoors) 6. Eat a healthy diet (to the best of your ability). I know it's difficult to eat healthfully considering the circumstances, but do your best to plan out meals. I'm not trying to be negative, but eating out constantly is not only unhealthy nutrition wise, but going out anywhere is a risk, so it's best to keep yourself safe. 7. Do deep breathing exercises and/or listen to soothing sounds. There are plenty of soothing sounds on Spotify and YouTube. In fact, there are some YouTube soothing sound videos that are like 24 hours or more! I know that you need a "YouTube Red" subscription to listen to videos on your phone while the app is running in the background, so Spotify is a good alternative, even with advertisements. 8. Choose something funny to lighten the mood. Doesn't matter if it's funny YouTube videos, funny movies, funny TV shows, a funny book, etc.. 9. Find a new hobby to absorb your attention. Is there something you've always wanted to do, but never tried? Well, do it now. 10. Express your feelings to someone or in a journal. Let out your feelings flow. Use a journal or even post on here. |
