If you don't want to read them, don't. It really is that simple.

Sure it may show up randomly from time to time elsewhere, and will also likely make some appearances in the check-in thread. Because it's world-wide, unprecedented, and the biggest event of most everyone's lifetime!

It's already clear in the titles.

Sorry to be so blunt, but sheesh, the solution is simple. No need to complicate it.

People already *are* using obvious titles.

I agree. The situation is so insanely complicated already and we are all having to live with it. All of us are. At this time, at least 1/3 of the posts on PC would have a trigger warning on them - and that's in addition to threads not having to do with COVID that have a trigger warning. Pretty soon the majority of threads will have a trigger warning. To me, that in itself is stressful.

Good Post

To be honest, I think both sides have expressed their opinions, and a request from WC to the mods has already been made. At this point, it is best to see what the admin team thinks because they have been around for a while and genuinely want what's best for the forum. I want what is best too.

I am fine with whatever the admins want to decide, because it is their forum and I am personally not triggered. Just am repeating what others have told me.

In the meantime, I will probably request this thread to get closed because I think there is not much of a discussion to be had at this point.
Thanks for this!

Talking continuously about how triggering it is and pointing it out every time someone mentions it adds a ton more energy to it than if it were just noted and moved past. Notice I did not say ignore. I'm not suggesting anyone ignore what is in front of your face. That makes no sense. However, we have a choice of how much energy to give it. We have a choice of reaction. We can choose to feel victimized or we can realize someone else's perspective does not need to be our own and they have needs too.

All of our needs are equal. Someone playfully engagging with the topic does not mean someone else needs to be offended because a joke was made. Someone noting they are struggling does not require anyone else to struggle alongside them. One person's choice of action is not a judgment of our own. I see a lot of projecting and judgment occurring and it feels off around here. It feels like another virus is affecting us and it is not physical.

It is a worldwide event that is significantly impacting the lives of almost everyone and it is affecting our mental health. That is entirely relavent to this forum. It is relavent to check ins. It is relavent to questions. It is relavent to individual threads. I am sorry it is triggering to some. For others, this is the one outlet they have to share how they are feeling. Are their needs less worthy?

What is triggering to me is to watch people tearing each other down while everyone is doing the best they can to survive right now. I've watched people attacking each other in my own community and there is a presence of negativity surrounding it here now as well. This is less than optimal teamwork. There is a place here for everyone despite our triggers. Sometimes we need to step away because the group goes a direction we cannot follow. Sometimes we need to hold on tighter because we need the support. I encourage everyone to do what they need to, but do it with a spirit and a heart that realizes your own personal needs, desires and styles are no more or less important than anyone else's. That's my trigger in all this. All I expect is to be heard. If the tide continues to flow in the other direction I will accept that as the outcome and move on. If we can get back to business as usual while adapting to the changes before us, I think that's awesome. Either way, you are all important to me. I support you even if you trigger me or disagree.

I'm good with that. Sorry for the reply after yours. I was crafting my two cents while you posted.

I also find it triggering watching others tearing each other down.

I also believe our own personal needs, desires and styles are no more and no less important than anyone elses.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
