Hi, my name is Brad, I'm from Tennessee and I have a mix of Bipolar/Aspergers. I was wondering if anyone felt this way. I'm on Lithium, Lamictal and Prozac. If I stopped taking Prozac, it wouldn't be good right since those are the three that my doctor prescribed to me? i thought I would be fine with just lithium and lamictal, but now I feel strange. I left Tennessee last Saturday to come to Florida for vacation which is where I'm at now. I was fine before I left, but now I'm not thinking straight and I'm having these weird thoughts. Is there such thing as anxiety from leaving home? Let me describe the thoughts I'm having. If anyone has seen that movie "Halloween" The main character is named Michael Myers. I keep thinking I'm Michael Myers trapped in a psychiatric hospital. It's weird.

Hi bradt93. Welcome to Psych Central. Sorry you are having such a difficult time with your meds. Have you considered reaching out to your doctor or a pharmacist?

I tried calling her office today, but I think it was closed. I'll keep trying. I definitely need to get back in.

Hi Brad, I get the impression you are anxious about the change. Leaving home causes a lot of anxiety for people with Asperger's even if leaving is for a fun event such as a vacation.
I live with Asperger's/ASD and find new changes very stressful. They really provoke my anxiety disorder and disrupt sleep, which has a negative impact on mood. I'm always very anxious for the first 3 or 4 days while on a vacation. Once I can make sense of the unpredictable nature of being away from home, it lessens.

Also, remember, Brad, if you get in a crisis and can't find a crisis line where you are il FL, you can always rely on teh emergency department. I have done it many, many times, even though I prefer not to. There is no shame at all in asking for help. None.

I'm okay guys. When I get back at home, I'm calling my P-doc and scheduling an appointment. This always happens to me everytime I go on a vacation, I get a lot of anxiety for no reason and I'm getting sick of it. Their has to be something I'm missing. In 2011, I was on vacation in California and I started having racing thoughts and I think that's when I first discovered I had bi-polar. When I got back home and started getting treatment, I was fine again.

I went through a lot last year, our poodle died who was a part of the family for 15 years and my aunt dad last October from an equestrian accident. I don't think I properly grieved yet, of course I know there is no "proper time" for grieving.
