While I was in the hospital I talked to my HR department. Back at my old job you called a number to let them know you were in the hospital and everything got taken care of. My new HR department said don’t worry you do it when you come back to work. So the whole time I was in there they were charging my leave. Then when I get out they say oh since you charged leave you can’t take short term disability. I was just hoping to get my leave back it is 104 hours. The company called me today and they said I can still get disability but they need paperwork from my employer. Employer claims they already sent it. I really don’t know what is going on and am not in the best frame of mind to deal with this. It has been over two months now I had written it off. I like the system at my old job better. I don’t need this added stress right now.

That situation sounds very difficult and I am so sorry you're having to deal with it. Hard enough being hospitalized, this added stress really complicates everything. I'm sure you're handling it as best as you can. I am always here if you want to vent.

You don't need the stress...and I get it...this is the worst time to have to deal with worrying about getting "pay"....but you are the only one who can manage this situation and get it done so that you get some form of payment to live....you need to find the "survival" mode deep inside and each day take a baby step toward resolving the problem. We know no one is going to do it for you.....Keep going...continue to use the support groups to give you motivation. I've been thru this....I was on Short Term Disability which led to long term...it was 2 years of hell getting on Long Term Disability and I was struggling just like you....you need someone in your life to keep pushing you forward...whether it be a therapist, a friend or the forums....You don't need this...but you do have to deal with it .
