Received my official layoff notice as of 26 September. What really sucks is I finally started feeling well and I don’t even have a job to prove it to. Grrrr.

Hi Bipolarchic14. Sorry for the layoff notice. That must be rough to go through.

In US unemployment insurance kicks in when you are laid off, so check with local offices and see if that might help.

I found volunteer work helped me boost my self esteem and confidence while I was considering other working options.

All the best to you @CANDC

I'm sorry that has happened to you, Bipolarchic. I can understand what you mean. You are far from being alone in being laid off, though. So many people have lost jobs this year, including many in my husband's department. My husband may still lose his, though we plan to move away, regardless.

I hope you soon find an interesting job. Sometimes changes can yield better things. You should be proud that you have been working. If you still can, please put that effort into finding a new opportunity. Hugs

Were you laid off because of your mental illness or another reason?

Sarah I was not laid off due to mental reasons actually I was one of the fortunate ones to be in the last 4% of our company so it’s not like I didn’t know it was coming I actually looked for it daily because I knew eventually I was going to get the axe in the meantime though I have been studying to go into a new career so hopefully I’ll be ready for that by December or January in the meantime I might pick up something temporary.

I'm so sorry. I hope the lay-off does open a door to something better.

I'm so sorry BPC. All signs point to this being my month too. I wish you comfort, and hope that you rebound quickly.

Peace.
