At work, someone points out my mistakes on an almost daily basis. They are correct, these things are mistakes. I'm not a brain surgeon so it's not the end of the world but I would rather not make so many mistakes.
I pretty much think that nothing I do will be totally correct so I realize people will continue to point out my mistakes. I can't get used to that. It brings up a severe worry about losing my job. I don't know what causes these mistakes. Maybe I'm putting too much pressure on myself to be perfect, and I've just given up on being perfect, so I make all of these mistakes. Do you have a problem with mistakes? How do you cope? |

I do have a problem with making mistakes at work. ...and I, too, worry that it will cost me my job. I know what causes it for me, though, and so does my boss, making her more understanding, I think. Nevertheless, I try not to, but the toll ECT has taken on my mind makes all my solo work suspect, and it's almost all solo work.
So, coping with this? I write down everything I'm told. And when meeting with a client, I double check everything I do for them with a colleague so that mistakes get caught.

If it isn’t your boss who’s telling you everything you’re doing wrong, would you be able to go to them and share your concerns, get some advice or feedback etc?
I’ve had colleagues like this before, just remember they’re not perfect either (indeed, some of mine who did this to me, were much worse in other ways than I was), but constant criticism can be really demoralising and have a negative impact on your work. Get some perspective from someone you can trust. I second the suggestion of writing things down, too. It’s amazing the stuff you think you’ll remember but don’t! |

That's a good idea to write everything down. I do that so I don't miss anything. |

I have this problem too.
How to cope? I don't know. It gives me a lot of stress over keeping my job too. I agree with writing things down, it helps. I have an additional problem of some gaslighting from the boss (saying to do something one way, then claiming the complete opposite, making me look incredibly stupid -- that gets me more upset than making actual mistakes). Despite this, I do love my job and the people I work with. I'd also say that if you can get into a routine of how you do something, that can help too. Jumping around can get problematic. Good luck! |

I've been there too. The colleagues are far from perfect! Their pressure is maybe intended to cause you stress etc....I also suggest writing things down. Sending positive vibes!

My colleague loves pointing out my mistakes, some i do some were things done on purpose by dictation of my boss. But she writes them in a book i have to initial. You've got me thinking. I need to find a new job fast, they can use that book against me.

Hey @imaginethat Are these people your supervisors? If they are not say "thanks, but I will talk to xyz about this". It is not their job to manage you.
