|
I have decided the nurse practitioner I have been seeing is not meeting my needs anymore. Due to her health conditions and Covid-19 she is only meeting by phone and to get her to call is exhausting.
So what I want to know is what questions would you ask the Pdoc in an initial interview? Thanks for your input. |

That sucks that you have to look for someone new during such a stressful time. From what you wrote, I would definitely ask how long it usually takes his office to get back to patients who call in crisis and other scenarios.
I suppose it is always good to ask how much experience they have with bipolar disorder (and your type) and their general treatment approach. How open are they to suggestions about medications from patients? If you like one or all of your meds, are they willing to keep it/them, or would their first step be to overhaul? |

I lucked out with my pdoc, but he’s almost 65 and I worry about him retiring. When am I going to have to get a new one. I imagine the service will just assign me a new pdoc, but they’ll never be another quite like mine. The service through which I see my pdoc has a 24/7 number you call when you’re in crisis, though they did end up sending the police crisis team on me when I used it.
