My p-nurse is giving up on me. We have tried med after med for a year and I keep developing crazy side effects.
She and I came up with the idea of seeing a local pdoc instead and she even suggested maintenance ECT. I have had ECT and it was very difficult. Now that I have no partner, it feels impossible.
In the meantime, because there will be waitlists and all, we are trying a low dose of Rexulti.

I am so frustrated and am starting to feel like I am going to live a life of either symptoms or side effects. Not cool.

I hope the Rexulti helps without any horrendous side effects and that the pdoc is helpful

Rexulti is a very smart drug. Give it a chance.

This is me, too. I've tried so many different brain drugs over the years and so many of them I've had bad side effects from them! I do take Rexulti and have found that I have no side effects what so ever! Just improved anxiety and psychosis.

Omg same! I've just started rexulti about 9 days ago. I think it's a bit early - I mean my anxiety is still quite high. But out of 10 I'd give it a 9. But that's better than a 12 out of 10. I was completely psychotic 6 weeks ago. And I truly hope and pray rexulti will stop the psychosis.

Please let us know how you go!

Alas, my insurance is a huge butt and the med wasn’t covered. My p-nurse has to call in for a prior auth. I have been to the pharmacy twice trying to get my med.
Frustrated.

I've done well on a low dose of Rexulti for several years. No side effects.

Sorry to hear about your struggles. I'm in the same boat - it's hard enough having mental health issues, and sensitivity to meds only compounds the problem and makes you feel hopeless sometimes. I'm actually thinking of trying Rexulti myself, so I wish you the best of luck. On that note, if your insurance does cover it, there is a savings card from the manufacturer that can lower the price. I'm not able to paste the link, but it's on Rexulti's website; it says $0 on the first two fills then $15 for each additional refill.

I wonder if it’s a warning sign from the Universe that it has been so hard to get this med! Now the insurance is authorized, the med is in, but my debit card number was stolen and I apparently missed a credit card payment (I never do that!) and my card was frozen so I have no access to $$ until tomorrow when my payment to the credit card goes through!
The irony of this week makes me laugh.
Meanwhile, I am still taking Abilify with all its lovely side effects.
I’ll try again tomorrow. 😑

Perhaps the universe wants you to earn the privilege of taking Rexulti

But seriously, I hope it turns out to be a good med for you. In my own experience just about anything is better than Abilify.

Got my med yesterday. So far so good. I am on a baby dose fit for a mouse, but will go up next week to a dose fit for a rabbit.
I am nervous but hopeful.
Thank you everyone, for your support. I hope that I can become a source of support here as well.

Just a thought - given your sensitivity to meds, I would evaluate myself after a week before increasing the dosage. Sometimes doctors follow their protocols and don't adjust the dosage based on the person. There have been many instances where I experienced benefits far below the recommended "therapeutic" dose, so don't feel like you have to go higher just b/c your doctor says so. Not saying you shouldn't, but just that you should listen to your body.
