Hey guys, thanks for always showing so much support here.

I think I'm strong enough to take on this project.

(tw abuse no details)

The past three years I have seen larger gaps in my memories from being young and psychotic symptoms or attacks when faced with anything involving s.ual abuse. It scares me every day that my mind is so willing to exit.

Anyway, I need to confront what happened during those gaps because I have been avoiding it since my mind puts up a psychotic wall everytime I try. But I got a new therapist I like, maybe she can help.

Have you had any luck uncovering trauma without going psychotic?

I can't live like this forever, and I'm feeling optimistic about healing. I also have all these other emotions that are attached to this thing. I just need to confront it without permanently losing grip on reality.

I will be frank, I speak without personal experience in this. However, I feel that your optimism as you approach your personal history and the confidence it evidences will stand you in good stead. It gives you a strength you may not have had access to before.

Thanks for sharing! I have had therapy, I'm not sure if I can answer your question. I agree that your optimism as you approach your personal history will stand you in good stead. I hope the therapy goes well!

Yes, I have worked with childhood trauma without going psychotic. My therapist is very supportive and doesn't rush; she's patient.

I think the most productive aspect of working through trauma with a therapist is that it is self-validating. As in, Yes, this really happened and it has had a profound effect on my life.

With that acceptance it's natural to move forward.
