I feel like over the past two or three or however long it's been my therapist has said "bring this up to [pnurse] when you talk to her" a bunch of times and tomorrow morning I talk to my pnurse and I don't remember what any of those things were. I think one was asking to be assessed for ADHD because T said my symptoms are interfering with therapy as well as, well, every other important aspect of my life. Something else was med related...? But that could've been many months ago I don't really know...
Anyways, what do you do before talking to your med provider to make sure things that should be brought up are brought up and you stay on topic and whatever else you do to prep to make sure your short phone call is as productive as can be?

My memory has declined so much, but strangely I do tend to remember what I need to tell my pdoc. Still, I write stuff down. If I need a med refill I keep the bottle on my desk so I will remember to ask for the refill.

Why can't your therapist talk to your pnurse? It just seems to me if it's that important, it should be discussed between the professionals as well as the patient. My doctors and therapists talk to each other all the time, thank goodness!

What about writing it on a piece of paper the moment it gets mentioned? Sorry if that sounds silly but it may be a solution if you didn't think of it already of course! Is it possible for you to call your pdoc back if you feel like you forgot to say something important? Or perhaps send him an e-mail. i would also suggest to talk about ALL of this with your pdoc if you feel like this is a recurring problem. Sorry if i haven't been of much Help. i Hope and Pray others will have more and better suggestion. Let us know how things go with your pdoc! SEnding many safe, warm hugs to BOTH you, @Sapien, your Family, your FriEnds and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

I don't need to that often anymore, but there were years when I took a lot of notes. I not only kept a piece of paper and pen in the ready at appointments, but created and printed bullet lists of things to mention before them. I brought the lists with me to the appointments. That was often my notes paper during, too.
When a doctor gives me multiple instructions (i.e. medication changes), I have even asked them to write them down for me if my thinking was cloudy or muddled. I think they always did when I asked them to. |

Thanks. I've given up writing these things down because gremlins steal my crap all the time. I don't know why my therapist can't tell my pnurse herself. Probably doesn't want to deal with my pnurse. I don't want to either lol.
Maybe I'll write notes in my phone. If I'm talking to pnurse on the phone, it's right there. Now, just where is my phone??? Damn gremlins!!!
