I thought my downstairs neighbor told me he would be gone for the weekend. Well, I was wrong....At 9:30pm I took seroquel and fell asleep. At some point I woke up suddenly to a loud noise. I figured it was a truck backfiring or something and fell back asleep. But then I was awakened by two more loud noises! At this point the seroquel pretty much had hold of me...instead of checking to see if my neighbors car was in the driveway I called 911 and reported a break in. The police arrived immediately. The poor guy and his fiance had to be questioned by the police, show their ID’s, etc. Meanwhile, I had fallen back asleep...until the police rang my doorbell. My poor brain! I was completely discombobulated. I had to verify my neighbor’s name and condo ownership. After this I immediately called my neighbor to apologize. I was falling asleep again while apologizing so not sure how coherent I was. Woke up this morning refreshed with memories of a dream in which I’d called the police. Sat down to eat breakfast, heard them walking around downstairs and remembered the whole sorry situation. Boy did I feel like an idiot. I thought about going down there to apologize in person, but decided that would just make me seem even weirder. I guess on a positive note, they now have an inkling of who they are dealing with.....

Hey, Seroquel or not, I think you did the smartest thing. If I had told my neighbor I'd be away and my neighbor thought someone was in my home I'd very much appreciate a call to the police. Better safe than sorry.

Things like that can happen. Hopefully no one was hurt or bothered by any of this. You did well by apologizing although you clearly were just trying to Help. i agree with the wise and wonderful BethRags about being better Safe than Sorry. Hopefully your neighbors won't hold it against you! Sending many Safe, Warm hugs to BOTH you, @wolftrap, your Family, your Friends and ALL of your Loved Ones! Keep fighting and keep rocking NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, OK?!

I had to text them about something else so I also included an apology. They were very very nice and said they appreciate having such a neighbor...and next time I am free to text them first before calling the police...

I'm glad it worked out for you. That was nice of them to give you their phone number to text them.

At least you didn’t go over there yourself! Calling the cops really was the best thing if you thought somebody was breaking into your neighbors house.

I'm glad your neighbors realized your very good intentions. I agree with others that you should acknowledge that very much. At least now you have a plan with the texting.

I totally understand Seroquel "hangover" and "daze".

Crazy 'Daze' indeed. Most peculiar Mama. That's from a song, I don't remember the title...

It's "Strange daze, indeed. Most peculiar, Mama" from John Lennon's song, "Nobody Told Me."

Don't ask me how I remembered that oldie when I can't remember where I put my car keys this afternoon...

Seroquel always hit me between the eyes when I took my night dose, too, wolftrap. I think you made the right move by exercising caution. You're known as a good neighbor now!
Thanks for this!
