Sooo. I impulsively drank Friday night. Ive being pretty good not drinking over the course of this past year but i don’t know. My hangover was nothing physical but I had an intense urge to self harm. Im still not out of the woods. Does anyone have the same issue/destabilize after drinking? Even before i drank i still was in a low/slight depression.

I just feel guilty after I drink because I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and drinking can't be helping it! I don't get hungover or want to harm myself.

Thanks Moose. Sorry to hear about your liver. The liver can heal itself though.

Sorry you stumbled black dog. I have tried a few times to stop, unsuccesfully. My sobriety usually ends with impulsive drinking. The next day I may feel disappointed with myself and I usually vow not to do it again, but even as I am vowing I am bargaining with myself about the certain limited conditions under which I will allow myself to drink in the future. I am sorry to hear that you are not out of the self harm woods yet. Impulsive drinking can trigger depression for me, but not mania. I hope you feel better soon! Check in and let us know that you are OK.

Thanks for this!

Thanks wolftrap. I got in touch with my psych and also talked with my family about everything i am experiencing. That helped. I have a appointment with my therapist and with my psych tomorrow as well. I also ditched all the extra meds i have lying around.
