@Soupe du jour and all:

Your understanding of the question is perfectly correct.

I'm sometimes too polite -- except when in the throes of episodes, of course! That's the way I was raised. (It's funny what many solid swats upside the head will do to a child.) I generally ask before proceeding.

Autumn is my season. What is one thing/activity you enjoy about the summer (I need ideas, people!) I hate the heat!

Answer:

Admiring the sunny hot days from the comfort of my air-conditioned home! I hate the heat too. Spring and Fall are my jams.

Question:

Do you find people who don't answer your texts in a reasonable amount of time annoying?

I get really frustrated as I text on WhatsApp and can see when they are active which infuriates me. I also can't stand when people "forget" to text you back. But it's always different if you do the same to these people too so why is it exceptable???"

Question: How have you really been doing lately?

So many. I'm sure I am forgetting some doozies. I guess I'll mention that about 27 years ago, I had a switch from depression to mania while living in Taiwan R.O.C. I then up and quit the job losing hundreds of dollars (had to pay back employer for breaking contract, plus lost deposit on room in apartment). I then decided to travel to Hong Kong and Thailand by myself - a 23 year old woman. Some pretty wild stuff happened. At one point, while manic, I nearly jumped off the bridge over the River Kwai in Kanchanaburi, Thailand. Not suicidal. I was just convinced it would be exciting, and almost took a joking dare seriously.

If you have a Smart phone or iPhone, what are some short cuts (or apps) you have on its home page?

Let's see......gmail, my Bible study app, the Bible, 2 weather apps (one came on the phone), Fitbit, Candy Crush saga (which I never play), facebook, messenger, my church's app and Word Crossy (which is really fun). Then just the things that are pre-programmed like calendar, notes, etc.

Do you play games on your phone?

No. I can barely use it to send texts and take photos with it.

Have you kept up with changing technology?

Sort of. I don't make a big point of it but if I do need a tech purchase I research a lot.

Have you ever continued a relationship with a therapist after termination?

When I moved to Germany many moons ago, I stayed in regular touch with my therapist here in the States, despite having terminated here & having started over over there. Before I left, I also visited her house to have lunch with her & her partner. In retrospect, it seems strange, & I'm sure there might have been crossed boundaries where professional ethics were concerned, but there was no damage done.

OK. Pick a year...any year of your life. If you had to pick your very favorite, which would it be? Why?

I immediately thought of a year, but am unsure which one it was. It was the first time my husband and I went to Portugal. We did Lisbon south to Algarve and Alentejo. We also went to Seville, Spain. We loved it so much and I was so mentally well. Maybe max, mild elated hypomania. Really, the healthiest trip I recall. Maybe in 1999?

When was the last time you felt very stable?

Do you or have you get/gotten meds from an assistance program?

No. I'm fortunate enough that I've never had to get meds from an assistance program (fingers crossed). When my pdoc switched my AP out to Vraylar (a newer med) the insurance company gave me a very hard time, though. Apparently Vraylar runs about $1300 for 30 tablets! Tell me Big Pharma isn't screwing someone, somewhere.

I've had such fun watching all the birds at our feeders this year. I know it's been asked before, but what is your favorite bird? What is it about its appearance or habits that appeal to you?

I like mourning doves. One because I can recognize them and two they look peaceful. They were the first bird I learned to identify by sound when I was a little girl watching birds out the picture window in front of my grandm's sewing machine.

Do you have any positive memories of a grandparent?

My mother’s father was a pretty cool dude. When my grandma developed dementia he learned to cook, do the laundry and clean the house. For back in the day that was pretty impressive to me cause my dad would have been helpless. In the 60’s and 70’s the line between woman’s work and men’s work was pretty black and white. He owned his own home and live there until he was 92. Always kept the house in good repair and spotless. Moved to an independent living place and stayed busy right up to age 98.

Do you want to live to be 100?

No way. It's hard enough to reach 35. Hehe.

If the whole world were listening, what would you say?

I would ask those that do to please quit the nonsense of supporting fascist type dictators or any dictator or wanna be one. Let's get back to democracy! Also, for those who haven't to get their butts vaccinated asap. Let's end this pandemic already!

Do you have any plants in your house? If so, what kinds?

I don't because my cat would snack on them and get sick. I do have geraniums and petunias on my porch though.

Have you had an unusually hot and unusually cold spring?

A lovely spring that is turning hot. Monday is predicted to be 108 degrees! On the nice days our nights are cool and pleasant. But no rain, so here we are in severe drought again...which likely means wildfires.

What's your favorite season, and why?

Fall Fall Fall.. I love everything about it.. Hoodies, boots, scarves, bonfires, soft blankets, being outside and not miserable from the heat but not freezing.

Cats, Dogs or Pet birds?
