Questions Bipolar Version #8

There is a very large group of my fellow Americans that believe things that seem completely ridiculous. I realize there is misguidance, propaganda, and just general naivety, (and desperation), but I still don't understand how so many are so naive. It's mind boggling! I also shake my head how much hypocrisy there is in this world. I always thought people were better than many really are.Sad, but reality is showing itself.

What is something about your town that you wish was different?

what would make me happy and content with my life. if I could understand that and figure that out, then perhaps I can work towards it

also what caused my life to be a mess to begin with. what was the ultimate factor, as it were
I wish I knew why my mother was so abusive towards me, when so many mothers are good to their children. so many things to help me move forward with life.

How are you feeling right at this moment?

I wish there were more bears like Papa bear and I (not the ''scary'' sort of bears)

Do you have a comfort object? Has a therapist ever recommended this?

I have a comfort box (well it's more like a cupboard), and in their are things that I use for comfort- a bottle of perfume that a friend used to wear (I don't spray it, I just smell the lid), a couple of stress balls, a toy figureen of a pirate, some bracelets, a fluffy toy bunny, fidget spinnerr, that sort of stuff. I am always ading to it as well. as soon as I find something that brings me good positive memories, it goes in the box

question: name a smell that you find most comforting?

Freshly cut pine. Use hand sanitizer or rubbing alcohol to get rid of pine sap. The smell makes me feel like home, perhaps I was supposed to be in the taiga or at least spread there.

Do you lose things frequently? Sometimes I think people knock me out and move my stuff around.

Not nearly as frequently as my husband says I do. Really, not that often. My husband loses things more than I do. He's always asking me where HIS stuff is, but I never touch his stuff. As if I have the time/desire to be keeping track of both of our things. In any case, there is one thing I've been looking for that I misplaced. Such things seem to sometimes be "eaten by snakes". I know I didn't take it out of the house.

What is something someone near you (spouse, partner, parent, friend) accuses you of doing frequently that they see as negative? Is it at all true, in your eyes?

Being late (it's sometimes true, I get caught up in something and lose track of time.) I'm not late for things that are important though.

I had another thought about this question. I wish there were more therapists who are prepared to work with someone longer term without harsh judgments (or even wrong diagnoses) This is also true about the wider area around me, not just my town.

Favourite water sport or favourite ball game? Mine are sailing and badminton. Also table tennis. I used to like swimming (I still might, in the sea)

my body.

I hate everything about it and would swap it for.... well, anything actually.

one thing I wish is that I could be a dolphin. gliding through the water, splashing around, without a care in the world...

I prefer science over art.

no not really.

I play the piano and also the guitar a little.

I used to play (and quite enjoy) an online brouzer game called the kingdom of loathing. you lived in the kingdom, and the council (cleverly called the council of loathing), sent you on quests around the kingdom to help out and advance levels.

when I could never complete the final level (level 15), I lost interest in it

now I just play online quizzes

the lion king (the original 90's version)

I was hesitant to see the remake, especially as I found out that beyonce played a lion (and I wasn't so sure she'd be good at that)

but I did end up seeing it, and actually I was impressed that they kept most of the story in tact

not only that, but mufassa's voice remained exactly the same

honestly it was good to sit their watching it, and knowing what they were going to say next. I'm happy it's not been spoiled

Yes...

I had to think about this a bit. When I was young, I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For by U2 was my favorite, but things do change. I suppose I found "it". I guess now my favorite is Shallow by Lady Gaga. Beautiful intense song and wonderful lady artist. Deep lyrics.

What is an accomplishment of yours that you are quite proud of? Present or past.

bringing someone round after she'd collapsed
what made it extra special is how thankfull she was to come out of it.

do you know anyone (family or friend) that served in the army, or a world war, etc?

Yes, many...too many. My father was in the Air Force during WW2 and my husband is a Vietnam veteran; two years in the army. And I know many more Vietnam vets.



Do you prefer the movie theater or watching a movie at home? Tell us why.

I like both. I think some movies are more exciting to see in the theater. It really depends on the movie. Certainly a film like Star Wars or Indiana Jones is best in the theater. Also ones with music as a main attraction (i.e. Amadeus or A Star is Born). Dramas I suppose I prefer watching at home, though seeing Woody Allen films in the theater was always extra special. Comedies in general are fun seeing at the theater, yet I confess to getting embarrassed sometimes when I see comedies with Hubby. He laughs louder, longer, and more often than most in the theater. People sometimes stare. The worst case was when we saw a movie called "In and Out" with Kevin Kline.
