I had a girlfriend in college who in our beginning stages asked me "so...do you have bipolar or schizoaffective?" Which surprised me because I thought my symptoms were well hidden and also who tf knows what schizoaffective disorder (later found out she had BPD so did a lot of research in similar diagnoses). She explained all the symptoms she saw (weird texts at weird hours, days of hypersexuality followed by not even wanting to think about sex, being really loud and talkative (obnoxiously so, but she didn't say that) for periods, responding to noises she couldn't hear, etc) and that conversation was really helpful because I had just barely been diagnosed at the time.
How did you react when you were first diagnosed? __________________ Live life for nothing but that sweet sweet melody. |

I was angry as hell. It was a secondary diagnosis to ptsd, bipolar 2. I’m still angry about it however I can see it’s still affecting me today.
Do you think you can ever get over bipolar ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm interpreting your question as whether or not I've come to peace with my bipolar disorder? If I'm right, then pretty much, yes. Perhaps about five or six years ago, but it certainly required a lot of steps to get where I am. Of course I don't just accept being ill. Right now I'm not ill, and will never let the disorder take me. I also know that I could definitely have additional bad episodes in the future. No denial about that possibility. What is one of the nicest things anyone has done for you? |

I don’t much talk about myself. So no I don’t. Some people are easier to talk to than others. I talked to an aunt the other day. We talk about all kinds of stuff for two hours and it was like no time had passed yet neither of us talked about ourselves. We talked books mostly, and religion, politics and media.

I was raised in the very heart of Motown, & now live in a good sized city. I can't even imagine living in the country. When one lives in the city there's the potential to do so many things...you'll note I wrote "potential." It's not that my partner & I actually "do" that much on a regular basis, but we're secure in the knowledge that we "could" if we so desired. I like the fact that we have a minor league baseball team here in town, & that I'm a little short of a two hour drive from a MLB team's stadium (I'm going to a game on Sunday!). I also live in the city where my Big Ten alma mater is located, so there are many college sporting events, as well.
Which do you prefer, freshwater fun, or ocean adventures? Describe why. |

Fresh water lakes. I practically grew up on a lake. My parents bought a cabin when I was 9 or 10 and after that mum and I practically lived up there the whole summer. Dad would join us on his weekends. Various cousins and their families would join us for a week or two. We had tons of fun. Canoeing, row boats and with adults the big boats. But I’ve only seen the ocean twice. Without being able to go in the water. The idea of jelly fish freaks me out yet I shared a lake that had leeches!

hmm: I would say, a good sleep, a good meal, no pain, no thoughts of sui, no issues with my incontinence, actually getting stuff done (and not just sitting their), and no thoughts of abuse or flashbacks

I'm a worried by nature. I'm worried about the future because I'm getting ready to leave an emotionally abusive ex-husband (I live with him) and I'm moving 18 hours south. It's a lot of big changes.

I tend to go on the offensive. I'll give them multiple reasons why that wouldn't work, even if I think it's a good idea I have to play Devil's Advocate.

Unfortunately, no one really understands me.
