Hey guys, I've been quiet on here apologes. I'm doing great. Like really great. Life is still crazy with covid etc but getting through life.

I have just completed 6 months on medication. As you all know I struggle to be medication compliant. I take 1,00mg Depakote and have just this week added 5mg Amlodipine to the mix as my blood pressure is sky high. I'm also still taking the depot injection for Aripiprazole been 7 months on that.

So technically 7 months on meds woohoo me!!!

Thought I'd share some good news for a chance I've made it to 6 months!

That's awesome! Congrats! Any tricks you've developed to help out in that department?

Tbh... I've learnt I need meds... bottom line. I can't go back to severe psychosis like last year and mania was through the roof. My team are pretty good at making sure I'm taking my meds now.

1. I have set timers to go off on my phone
2. I write in a memo on my phone when I have took them
3. I have a journal I write I have took them in
4. I have a mood diary I write it in too
5. Mark off on my calendar I have took them
6. My phone calendar has TAKE YOUR MEDS and goes off 10 mins before my phone alarms

It's a lot for me to keep going but I need to prove I can do this and that I can sustain stability

Congratulations on managing the bipolar instead of the bipolar managing you!

Excellent! btw, I take Amlodipine. It seems to be a good medication...the only side effect I have is that it causes my ankles to swell a bit.

So glad to read you are doing well. I'm happy to read that you recognize the role that medications can play. I hope your stability lasts and lasts.

I, too, have to take blood pressure meds most probably because of one of my medications. Since the bipolar med is a crucial medication for me, I just accept needing the extra one. Sometimes it's the best of the lot.
Thanks for this!

This is huge for you! I’m so glad you’ve taken the initiate and have realized how important it is for you. Sometimes taking medication that helps is a form of self care we need to practice.

I can relate. As I’ve been sharing with other posters I messed my brain up by relapsing on marijuana and it’s going to take me six months to get back to normal. I wasn’t on medication when I relapsed . I went off my medication under my doctors supervision because I was trying to live like a normal person in order to pursue a career in law enforcement . Let’s support each other .
Thanks for this!
