Does anyone wake up with crippling anxiety?
Is it depression, bipolar or ptsd? My Ptsd is from my old job so I am wondering if not wanting to work is even though it is a different job the ptsd is there. I just always expect the worse of everything. I need to work on the anxiety and triggers. Depression from the bipolar is not easy. Co-morbid illness makes it hard to figure out what needs work first.

Although I hate to admit there is merit to it, but I was diagnosed with PTSD with like 3 questions and without a real diagnostic assessment a few years ago. Most of my traumas are 20+ years old. I fought that a lot.

Whatever you can contribute the crippling anxiety too -- depression, bipolar, or PTSD -- the other two only enhance the level of intensity. So, really it doesn't matter -- comorbid conditions really make it that much worse. Lately I've been having issues with dreams/nightmares that bring up a lot of issues in my waking life. I'm sorry you are going through that. It's hell and I know what you're going through.
Thanks for this!

I do too. Every time I wake up my first thought is an anxious one.

I wake up feeling agitated and energetic often, I think it’s bipolar: my brain just darts around and I feel all weird; but on mood stabilisers I feel way more grounded. It’s like a cousin of anxiety. I hope you’re feeling fine, anxiety is literally so hard from what I can tell because there’s the non-stop worrying part as well as the distractibility.

I wake up with at least a small degree of anxiety. It goes away after I get up, but for those few minutes before I’m fully awake and ready to start my day, my mind races as I think of all the things I need to do and I dread it. I’m glad I’m not the only one who gets this, even though I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Often I'm aware of the anxiety before I am even fully awake.

I have late afternoon and early evening anxiety. During the day I'm totally fine. Once 4:30 hits I'm an instant mess until about 7 or 8 at night. Then the morning comes and I am once again fine. That 4:30-8 time frame is often when I screw up on my diet or take an extra benzo or do something else.

This started right after I had major succesful surgery in October 2020 and I have not been able to figure out what happened. I did have a very tough physical and emotional recovery which took months to get over but I dont think its still going on.

So I have no clue why my depression/anxiety is still going on. But its not in the morning.

Yup. Stopped drinking coffee because of it. It's because of work, which is hell for me. Only thing that works is posting here and other online mental health forums.

I definitely feel more anxious in the morning. My pdoc said I just have a more anxious personality. I didn’t really find that useful.
