My wife passed away Nov 18th this year and I lost my insurance and my 90 day script of Latuda ran out. I am manic as all get out and suicidal to boot. I don't know what to do my p doc is out of the office till Monday and I did tell her I was running out of meds. I wish latuda did not work so good for me being as expensive as it is. I don't know what to do I just want to die but I can't leave my kids or my dogs. The kids are adults so I guess they would be ok. I want to die cause I lost my best friend she is gone forever and I just want to be with her she was only 44 and we were married 23 years. I miss her so much.

I believe you can have your pdoc write a letter saying you need Latuda and appeal to the company that makes it. If you can prove you need it and can't afford it, they will send it to you for free.

Also, have you tried applying for Medicaid? I'm not sure if Idaho expanded it or not, but many states expanded it so that anyone with low income can qualify.
Thanks for this!

There is olanzapine and ergenyl too as an option, but I don’t know the prices in US. I have those and it works great with me. Had them both combined since 2014.

There are patient assistance programs to help with meds you can't afford. The applications will be on the Latuda webpage.Don't worry if you don't qualify in all categories; I just include a note with the application explaining that I might make whatever amount but that doesn't meant I can afford $200 of meds out of pocket or whatever. I've been doing this for years and have never been rejected.

For gnerics or less expensive meds try goodrx.com for a coupon or rxoutreach.org for cheap mail order.

Paitnet assistance isn't immediate so hopefully you can get some samples until it is approved.

I'm so sorry about your wife.

I am so, so sorry about your wife's passing. I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling.

Please do what others have suggested. There are a number of ways to get your medication at a much lower cost - or free.
