I’m bipolar 63 live with and care for mum, 94. There’s quite a few here on msf who are late 50’s-60’s. Join us on the bipolar check-in for a daily ongoing check in. It’s informal and chatty

HI and welcome!!!!!
I am 59 bipolar 1 married no children, 3 cats.
was hospitalized 2 years ago because my meds quit working and they stopped the geodon and I went manic, psychotic.

spent 30 days in there because they could collect the money from my insurance that was the max allowed days.
Hubby said they let me out too soon. Went to IOP for 5 weeks.

Then said I needed to go back to work.
It is normally a 6 week thing. I went back to work and have

been trying to get caught up and it was really hard.

But I did it.
What is your story?

Welcome to the group, Kristigirl. I have a bipolar type 1 diagnosis, too. I'm heading quickly to 51. Originally from New Jersey, but I live with my husband in Central Europe.

Hi there, and welcome! You’re in the right place.😊 I’m 63 with bipolar 1, didn’t even get diagnosed till age 53. I’d had symptoms throughout most of my life since I was 5, but didn’t put all the pieces together until I had a meltdown in 2012 that just about took me out. I’m so glad I let myself be treated, I know without a doubt that I wouldn’t be here if I hadn’t.

I hope you enjoy your time with us. Feel free to ask questions, someone is always around here even in the dead of night. Take care.
