I’ve been on invega for a week so far. Today I am feeling anxious. My case manager says that anxiety is not caused by invega. Then why do I feel this way? I’ve been trying to read a book to distract myself which is sort of helping. Time is dragging along. I went to starbucks and had coffee and talked on the phone with the person I went to Chicago with but after two hours of talking he doesn’t want to any more. Plus I’m still shaking and moving my tongue and lips around. Cogentin- along with invega- can cause tardiv dyskinesia. Or is that that true? The cogentin caused dry mouth and urinary retention. So I can’t take cogentin. Invega can cause urinary retention too but so far so good. These side effects are driving me batty! I’m also hungry a lot! Trying to watch what I eat but I just ate an oatmeal cookie with some milk.

Now I’m having chest pain! It’s not radiating down my arm at least.

Oh. I don't know if invega can cause anxiety and chest pain. I only took one dose of it one night IP when I was really manic. It just numbed me a little bit. I didn't like it so I refused to take it again. Have you contacted your psychiatrist? I hate anxiety. It's a terrible feeling. I hope you feel better soon.

By the way, an oatmeal cookie sounds really good!

It was. Never ate lunch because my daughter and her boyfriend are taking me out for Mexican for dinner tonight! I want to be good and hungry for the feast! Anxiety hasn’t plagued me today - yesterday was not fun! I never asked my case manager to relay the anxiety to my Pdoc. I’m unsure whether my psych nurse practitioner knows or not. I was feeling paranoid when trying to pay a bill online. I cancelled signing up and paid it via my debit card over the automated bill-paying thingie on their phone’s automated system. I then called and it said my balance is zero so I guess it will show up as deducted from my bank account in a day or two. At least I am avoiding anxiety-inducing activities! I’m doing ok on the invega pills so far. Chest pain is listed on this site that had umpteen side effects of invega that I was reading last night. It was more like reflux with heart burn and this morning is one of the days I’m supposed to take Prilosec so that seems to have fixed itself!

Feeling ok tonight. Went out to eat with my daughter and her boyfriend. Ate half of this large burrito and tried a fried Oreo. I didn’t enjoy that. Too greasy.

Tomorrow is the big neighborhood garage sale in my mom’s neighborhood but I didn’t realize it so I didn’t get any cash. N3 has to work tomorrow morning so he’s not coming.

I don’t see my pnurse practitioner until the 12th but I’m seeing my primary dr tomorrow. When I got the bloodwork done I wasn’t on invega yet so it will have to be repeated.

Invega can, in low numbers of cases, cause anxiety as a side effect. Is your case manager an M.D. or, more specifically, a psychiatrist? If you are having Generalized Anxiety Disorder or Anxiety due to one of the flavors of Depression and Panic Disorder. If this worsens, I would talk to someone else or get a second opinion. It is amazing to me really how many folks in healthcare seem not to understand medication therapy is supposed to help people and be corrective to such conditions. Not cause them, sorry for the anxiety.

Anxiety and Invega

My case manager isn’t a doctor or nurse. I’m not sure what her credentials are. She is the go between of me and my psych nurse practitioner.

I’m at my primary doctor waiting to see how much weight I’ve gained on invega. It’s only been a couple weeks but I know my weight is higher.

At the hospital. They are keeping me overnight. Couldn’t follow what my primary dr was saying this morning.

I really was out of it. Feeling somewhat the same but feeling better for the most part. They said psych will want to see me here. I really am glad my doctor suggested that I come to the RR. I didn’t feel comfortable driving home.
