Hi Everyone! I'm new here so thought I'd introduce myself. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder about a year ago but still feel like a fish out of water when it comes to trying to live with this. I recently had a small manic episode (lasted about a week-it might lead to yet another med change...) which made me realize how lonely I can get because I don't know anyone else with this diagnosis. So, I went to the internet and found this support group. I'm looking forward to joining in on the discussions! Have a good day everyone.

Thanks for this!

come on over to the check in thread, it moves fast usually but we’re a diverse group. You’ll find that bipolar comes in all flavors

Hi June.

I recommend Psych Education for people learning about bipolar. It's written by a psychiatrist who specializes in bipolar and is full of information about all aspects of the disease.

@June08, I'm glad you joined this community. I joined it for a similar reason. Over my time here, I've seen that we have plenty in common, in terms of the bipolar experience, but also aspects that are unique.

I second what BeyondtheRainbow wrote about PsychEducation as a resource. I'm quite fond of the organization's founder and his knowledge. I learned a lot from him.
