At this precise moment, neither. I just got back from a trip to Mexico staying along the beach at times. It was way too hot. I think of the two, my preferred is probably the mountain cabin. As beautiful as the sea and beaches are, I think there's simply more to do in the mountains for me.

What sport (or other type of physical activity) do you like to do most?

I must be having a bit of a random moment, because I read this question and thought, well, my favourite physical activity to do is go to the toilet (admit it though, it feels good to be empty)

I guess.... holding a cup?. I'm really not physical at all which might explain why I walk I'm slower than the world's slowest tortoise

what is something you've learned recently that you wouldn't believe until you actually looked it up?

You can make cheese in a crockpot (still not sure I'd try it but it's apparently possible).

Do you like cake or something else for your birthday?

I prefer other treats. I'm not much of a cake person.

Could you find a hardware store (not Walmart, Target, Lowe's, Home Depot, etc) open at 7:30 PM in your town?

There are so many! What came to mind is about head hair. In many cases if a person loses a lot of their head hair (i.e. from chemo or other reason, like Lithium/medication hair loss, extreme stress) it frequently grows back curly or curlier than in the past. It happened to me, and apparently there is support for this fact. I'm not sure if it happens to people with racial backgrounds where hair is always straight (like some East Asians), though.

Is your natural head hair a different color in adulthood than it was in early childhood? And or texture different?

No, no real change. I've always had a head of quick growing blonde hair since childhood.

When you are going through a depressive episode, do you tend to notice fluctuating energy levels before your mood goes down, or does it come all at once?

energy level goes first. Right now I could easily sleep 15 or more hours per day.

Do you re-read books over and over or is just once enough?

If they're good I'll read them 2-3 times. Otherwise, no.

When you read a book, how do you know where to stop? At a section? At a chapter? Any page?

There’s no rhyme or reason where I stop if I have a bookmark. I sometimes stop in the middle of a sentence. But if I don’t have a bookmark I try to stop at the beginning of a new chapter and repeat the chapter number a few times so I can remember it.

Do you take random days off? Where you don’t get dressed, don’t do anything but veg out?

Yes, love those days.

What is your default easy meal?

I guess some kind of egg dish with roll or bread on the side and fresh veggies (cherry tomatoes, pepper strips, radishes, cucumber, etc.) Yesterday I made "ham and eggs", but I also make variations of mushroom/onion/eggs or Lečo, which is sauteed onion/pepper/tomato and eggs. Or other ways. They always taste good. My husband is obsessed with lečo and eggs. Sometimes people also add sliced kielbasa to it, but Hubby prefers me not to. I most prefer eggs poached or sunny side up over scrambled, or in omelette form. Occasionally I make them my prefered way. I first started making eggs for myself at age 8 or 9. First thing I learned to cook on my own and reach the stove (I was tall). I was proud of myself.

How exactly do you most like your eggs, if you like them? And dry/well or more runny? And what with?

Dry omelets with cheese, sausage, onions, and peppers

Are you generally dehydrated, perfectly hydrated, or overhydrated?

Perfectly hydrated is my goal. I love water, so I drink plenty when I'm home. When I'm away from home I have a nice water bottle I take with me. The lovely grocery store near my apartment has a whole section of waters. I love trying different ones, especially when the weather is hot.

Q: Are you looking forward to spring or are you okay with winter for a while?

I'm looking forward to spring. Winter hasn't been that bad this year but lots of grayness.

Favorite Winter-Time activity?
Thanks for this!

Sitting near a fireplace or woodstove with a cup of hot coffee or tea.

What winter activity are you glad to stop in the spring?

Having to keep my windows open only an inch. I want to open my windows wide, feel the air, smell the scent of orange blossoms. Spring!

Q: Same. What winter activity are you glad to stop in the spring?

Wearing my ice grippies in the driveway every time I go out.

Do you listen to different types of music during different seasons?

No, my hearing had deteriorated too much to really enjoy music much. I have the same rock station on in the car all year long.

If you could live anywhere, where would you live? Why?

This sounds silly but I'd live at the summer camp where I worked in college. (So really I'd live near there but as close as possible). It's the most beautiful place with mountains and a gorgeous river and it's just my favorite place. If it weren't for bipolar and needing to be near my pdoc (any pdoc would be hard to find there) and some things like that I'd move there when my mom is gone. But it wouldn't be a good idea in reality.

Can you change a tire on a car?

No, but if I do eventually go to autoskola (driving school) in Czech Republic, I'll have to learn. I already know how to drive and drove for over 30 years in the US, but Czech Republic won't recognize my US driver's license anymore. They stop after 3-months living here. Czech autoskola has many more requirements, including some basic mechanics, procedures and required items if broken down on the side of the road, and even basic first aid, not to mention many different road signs and rules. Driving in tram areas is also new to me and seems scary.

Have you ever driven cross country/continent (or nearly) or been a passenger for such a trip? Where did you go?

Yes, I moved an 18 hour drive across the US continent (south to north) this past August. Previously, I drove north to south to move south but only lasted 13 months in the south. I enjoy car trips normally but moving a household with cats in the car was very stressful!

Have you used the Calm app or other relaxation/meditative apps to help you fall asleep or just to relax?

Never tried them. To be fair, I have a couple of mantras and meditation practices that help me, so I've never had the need.

What fascinates you at the moment?
