Nope, without the Prozac/Zyprexa together depression returns. Have to stay with 5mg. Zyprexa.

Med Update
2/18/23

Zyprexa at 7.5mg last night and I feel absolutely functional. Sleepy, but I've been sleepy lately. No depression, I have energy (motivation), absence of persistent weird thoughts and feelings. I also halved Lamictal to 100 (from 200). I (possibly) want to get off of it, too many meds. Continuing with the K-pin reduction, so this week the a.m. dose will be 2.5mg (p.m. dose of 1mg will remain the same).

M. said she has never had a client who arranged their own meds the way I do. Well, I told her, I've been doing this for 36 years, so. I have a good grasp on my mind-body connection. I want my meds all in order by the time I see Dr. K. on Friday. I just need prescriptions.

Medication Update
2/28/23

40mg. Prozac
5mg. Zyprexa
2700mg. gabapentin
1mg. Klonopin (+ .5mg. prn a.m.'s)
50mg. Lamictal
Amlodipine
melatonin

Goals: 1mg. Klonopin p.m. and stop the Lamictal (in a couple of weeks).

(I don't know what I wrote earlier: Continuing with the K-pin reduction, so this week the a.m. dose will be 2.5mg.?? There has never been a 2.5mg. K-pin dose.)

Dropping the a.m. dose of K-pin has gone well. P.m. dose will be much trickier, but that's okay...I can take a year to do it.

Decreasing the Lamictal has, so far, been okay. I don't really notice mood differences; I do experience dizziness if I lie down too fast and I feel lethergic, like heaviness in my body, which is difficult. But the lethargy could be, in part, days of cold rain...it's hard to feel very motivated or "light." I think most people here are so over this weather, and ready for some warm, sunny days.

Appointment with new med prescriber on 3/7.

Med
3/6/23

I'm not noticing any mood issues from decreasing the Lamictal, only that I'm really dizzy when I lie down and my sleep has been terrible. I assume withdrawal?? I'm so tired of fighting meds. I'm taking the regular Lamictal dose (200) tonight, see if it does have an effect on my sleep. It's either the Lamictal or this damned rain that apparently will never stop, never, never again. Doesn't rain for 30 years and now it's been raining almost non-stop for months. SO done with the cold and the rain. SO done.

New med person tomorrow. Yay, I can hardly wait. I am NOT being so forthright this time. Let HER figure it out.

Came home from session and errands, had a hard time even walking and breathing. I'm so tired from sleep loss and probably from decreasing the Lamictal too fast. I thought I've decreased it like that before, but maybe not and maybe not while I was also on an AP. I feel scary exhausted. Can't regulate my temperature, hard to make it through the rest of today before I have at least a chance at sleep.

Anwyay, took 100mg. of Lamictal when I came home. I'm hoping that if this is withdrawal I'll feel better (physically) than I've been feeling this past week.

meds

Oh, wow. I realized last night that this week I filled my pill box with 2.5 Zyprexa instead of 5mg. So I took the 5mg Zyprexa, full 200mg Lamictal, and in the major effort to sleep took a 50mg Seroquel and a 5mg melatonin. And I SLEPT! Collapsed into bed at 9:30, slept 'til dawn when I awoke to take care of Sidney (insulin), did the early morning chores, then put myself back to bed and slept for another 3 hours. My mind is quieter (no music on repeat), I can breathe normally, my heart isn't fluttering, no headache. I feel rested - although sleeping even more is tempting, but I won't, don't want to feel completely spacey from too much sleep. I'll be able to exercise today.

Appointment with new med provider today. I can't say I'm looking forward to it, but going into it well-rested is a huge plus.

I'm waiting for the melatonin/valerian/turmeric/ginger supplement to arrive. x fingers crossed it will help with sleep.

Thanks for asking, sweetpea. Thew dizziness...I think it's gone. I'm pretty sure it was from med withdrawal (decreasing meds too fast).

I really like my new med provider! She's not a power tripper. All meds are staying the same. I'll take the melatonin/valerian supplement tonight and hope I sleep.

Hey Beth
I think sleeping is the key to staying stable.
just who knows what comes first the hypo mania or the not sleeping or maybe both?
How is your sleep coming along?
How are you doing?
