I've been thinking about you with this "bomb cyclone" of ours. How did you fare? My son (lives in the Mission Dist., SF) said major flooding there. We've sure had flooding around (literally around, not inside of) the town where I live. The American and Sacramento Rivers are very high and creeks overflowing.

My bedroom flooded 2 nights ago due to a problem with a window seal. Not fun, at all. The rain and wind was slamming against the window, running down my wall onto the floor. A mess for sure. The major problem in town has been fallen trees. Seeing huge trees downed always saddens me.

What about you?

I am hanging in! In fact, I am enjoying seeing that creeks are as if it were spring, loud and full of water. But I have not suffered from loss of power, the parking lot in the complex has not been flooded, i.e. I myself have been completely OK. Here are pictures from my hike today.

I recently saw a fallen tree on a hike and was thinking that it might have been freshly fallen, but I cannot tell for sure. A downed big tree is a very sad sight.

A flooded BEDROOM! That is a real mess. Sorry to hear about that!

Yes, a downed tree is such a heart-wrenching site. Seeing the roots in the air, helpless. Awful.

Over 1,000 trees - yes, 1,000+ - fell in Sacramento during the storms.

I'm glad you're okay, Cherry. Yeah, the bedroom flood was not fun. I'm so glad this parched state did get so much needed water, although the flooding in some places is devastating. The San Joaquin Valley, I feel so bad for all those people. And the people whose houses were in mudslides.

I'll be fine if I don't see another rainy day for a good while.
