It just occurred to me that when I joined 8 years ago there was always someone asking about mood trackers. Now I never see that. I personally hate the things and haven't used on in years.

Do you still use a mood tracker? Do you like it? Was it a fad before?

I use an app called Woebot and it’s free. It also coaches you through distressing times with DBT and cbt skills

I used them in the beginning, when I first sought counseling. They were useful to help to visualize the rhythm, the ebb and flow of my moods. Once I got a good sense of my illness and how it affects me, I didn't see a need for it anymore.

I used one 13 years ago and still do the same one but now I transferred it on to my phone. As tbh I couldn't be bothered with the paperwork. I write in it religiously. I track mood, sleep, meds, alcohol, appts, periods and others (general day to day activities). I find it with it especially when I'm not well

I used one in the past, but stopped years ago. I found that I wasn't always able to judge my moods accurately, anyway. For example, I'd track as baseline during what were determined to be hypomanic or even manic episodes. Or even the opposite, mildly to moderately depressed. For me there was "episode denial" or plain old lack of insight, two slightly different things.

I tend to be a reliably good sleeper, when taking my evening meds and not in a manic episode. It eventually gets boring tracking 8 hours, 8 hours, 8 hours. As for my time of month, I prefer to mark that on my Google calendar. I'm in perimenopause, so tracking that is still important.

I'd rather not "over think/analyze" every part of my day, unless extremely needed.

I used one years ago together with a daily activity plan. Both was of help then, but I don't feel I need them anymore. I observe myself and decide what tools (inner and outer) to use there and then. I have also made made a personal "daily planner" for the whole week with different tasks to do each day. This plan repeats itself every week. If something not in the plan pups up, I make a place for that activity on that special day.

One can say that the mood tracker and activity plans of that time has done it's work and helped me to move on.

I use eMoods and I find it helpful to look at the graphs and see patterns in my sleep and how many days I've been depressed/elevated. Sometimes I feel like I've only been feeling down or up a couple days but it's been a month and I went from sleeping 7 hours a night to three hours, so I look at it before I see the pdoc and I can give her a more accurate picture of what's going on. It also asks if you have psychotic symptoms which makes me really think "am I experiencing anything 'off' today?" and gives me more insight.

I also remember when everyone was talking about them. I do not have patience for them but I did try some years ago.
