So... my mom is in the ER. I get a call from my dad saying that he found her sitting on the couch, aphasic, agitated and seemingly blind. He was only gone from the house an hour and a half. So, naturally he called an ambulance and gave me a phone call.

I rush down to find her fighting with the nurses, aphasic and sporting a fever of 102 with a pulse of anywhere from 120-135. Lowest I saw was 118.

My educated guess was infection that's now affecting her brain. The two admitting doctors taking over her care seems to be thinking the same.

Possible trigger:

I'm so sorry this is happening, @Aurelius710! I hope they can find the problem soon and that your mother recovers.

I did really good today once I stopped the antibiotic last night. All the agitation anxiety on edge stuff disapeared and my moods were fine today. I sheepishly told my therapist the crisis was over and all she said "it was for sure the antibiotic then." I'll be sure to tell my doctors I can't take amoxcillian anymore.

I'm kinda low in energy right now but I don't think its a big deal. I don't think anything is coming back. I am in bed now even tho its not even 4.

My therapist did some googling and found out my shots can make me immune compromised. Which makes sense why I get sick every month but my mom and brother are always fine. Theres nothing I can do but wash my hands.

**** I have a 9AM ENT appointment tommorow I forgot about. Which means I need to take a shower and answer dumb questions.

I just threw up a bit of bile. Not a big deal. My therapist thinks my twisted intestines are an issue and that GI is blowing me off.

My blood pressure is 137/91. I'm just lying in bed listening to Sia. Barely moving. At immediate care it was 144 and they made a bit of a fuss about it.

I just threw up a bunch of bile. Yeah this is totally normal. 2 days in a row. My chest pains are better though.

I had a couple good things happen today. I took my dog to the vet for her annual checkup and it went well! As usual, the anticipatory anxiety was worse than the actual event. I've been dreading the bill, which can be quite absurd, but it was reasonable this time. The vet was new to me, a woman, and she was in raptures over my dog, couldn't stop saying how cute she was! I'll ask for her always now.

My dog's health is better than i expected, as i was worried she is losing weight. Not only is she not losing, she GAINED some since last appointment! So i'm thrilled! She is aging gracefully.

So i came home and did some budgeting, as it all hinged on how expensive her appointment was. And that went very well too! It's about the only area of life that i am doing well in, as i have discovered a new hobby of lying in bed. I did that all day yesterday.

But since i am experiencing such good news, and i just ran out of pop, i am going to attempt to quit again. I don't know if it's wise to quit one of the very few things i like about living, but staying stocked up in it has recently become yet another problem with it. The online grocery delivery service doesn't want to carry such a big order up thru the building anymore. Well, all i can do is try. It's been two hours and i am already jonesing. Will have some water. Eee!

I went to the doctor today with 20 minutes’ notice! My doctor called me about the UTI symptoms I was having. Last night I went pee and felt a sharp pain in my urethra and my bladder. Urination slightly increased. She asked if I could get there in 20 minutes- then she added “Don’t speed!” I didn’t. Got there on time. The dip stick test was negative but I got my results from the urinalysis they sent to the lab were positive for trace amounts of blood and white blood cells. We’ll see when the doctor reads the results if that’s worthy of antibiotics or not.

I hope you're ok Moose. I sent my dr a note in the portal last week because my urine was cloudy, stung and smelled like toilet bowl cleaner. After the dip they called and said "to his surprise it was negative but they'd culture it". (The toilet bowl cleaner thing gets attention apparently). It came back with an "unusual" bacteria so I've been on antibiotics. If I finish and it's not gone I'll have to have another culture. I'm really hoping it's gone. The toilet bowl cleaner smell is gone at least and that is very good. Having something come out of your body smelling like that is freaky!

Wow! Toilet bowl cleaner smell! I hope this UTI goes away for you- soon!

I’ve been drinking lots of water to hopefully flush the bacteria out.

If you’re not sure whether to go to the ER or urgent care, call you ur doctor’s office. Hopefully they will have an on-call doctor call you back.

Surprisingly good! Happily good! I'm sitting next to her in her hospital bed and she's been lucid. I've had full conversations, and while her brain is still a little frazzled (understandable given what happened), the fact we've been talking is amazing!

What happened is still up in the air. No sign of stroke or brain trauma which is excellent news! Infection is still the likely cause, but where the infection is coming from is eluding the doctors. All the likely culprits are fine, so they're having to look further afield. I'm very curious myself as to what happened.

My mom is snoozing away right now, which is excellent in and of itself, so I'm probably gonna head home and get some sleep myself. My dad's planning on coming back in at first light, so she'll have someone there when she wakes up.

As for me:

Great news, @Aurelius710!

I'm so glad your mother has improved. Hopefully the doctors find the source of the problem soon.

The ENT doctor pulled out this giant piece of earwax. It hurt like hell. It was really impacted in there.

She wants to do this this test where I have to be off all my sedating meds for 72 hours. Which means I can't take any valium for 3 days. I'm pretty sure I won't be able to do the test because of that specefic reason.

I threw up some Mountain Dew this morning. I haven't actually eaten in about 20 hours. I got some drink from the coffee shop after my appointment but I'm not 100% sure its gonna stay down. The ENT said throwing up brown isnt normal but that shes an ENT and its in not her area. She said to call my doctor.

At least she got a giant chunk of stuff out of my ear.

I'm kind of just like. Maybe I should just call my doctor now? The second valium didn't help. So its not really anxiety.

I called my GI doctor 2 hours ago and told the receptionist my symptoms. She asked a few more and said she'd relay the message to the doctor.

They are just leaving me hanging and I don't feel good.

At least I'm losing weight now between all this puking and not eating much. I lost 3.2 pounds. I ate like 1220 calories today. Puked up my second soda around 5AM
Trying really hard to hold things in right now.

And there went dinner.

Edit: Now I'm just puking up water. Can't keep anything down. I'm thirsty as **** and probably dehydrated at this point.

@Mountaindewed

I hope you get in touch with somebody. I was told to go to the ER in 1999 when I couldn’t even keep water down BUT I was 5 months pregnant at the time too. I still think you should talk with a doctor though.

N3 took me out for b bim bop today for an early birthday lunch. Tomorrow is my birthday.

I’m feeling like a stuffed sausage today. Can tell I’ve gained ten pounds since six months ago. Not good.

I get a free birthday drink at Starbucks. You can get anything you want!

I’m going out to lunch with my mom tomorrow and then on Friday I’m getting my hair cut. It’s about six inches below my shoulders and I want it shoulder length.

(Nice. I complain that I’m fat then talk about going to restaurants! D’oh!).

You really need to go to the ER. You’re right: you’re likely dehydrated.

Victoria took us to a Brazilian steakhouse. Everything was great. I'm going to need dentures soon I'm not happy at all about that. My insurance doesn't pay for them so I have to save up 5k. No clue how we're going to do that while drowning in bills. H wants me to ask my parents but that's a lot of money but I'm down to chewing on one side in the back.like I said not happy.
