If your baseline is pretty reactive (like, say, you also have BPD, ADHD, and PTSD...), what should you look out for when you see looking back you were more out of control than usual during mania, but remember at the time you felt perfectly normal, or admitted that you weren't super into thinking about consequences but that's "just you"?

I don't know. I don't have a consistent baseline to refer to. Too many variables, too little information, a lot of inaccuracies...

I had to use emoods on my phone and track a while. There was a better one but I forgot what it was when switching my phone years ago. It asks for the highest and lowest for the Day.

Yeah eMoods is really helpful.

I got the lifetime license ($14) years ago and it's well worth it for me.

There's also Daylio, which is pretty popular.

I think I used eMoods a while back, but I couldn't figure out how to "categorize/label/quantify" what was happening each day and if I looked back, unless there were notes with it, I wouldn't be able to tell if it was an "oh shyt, bipolar episode coming in hot, break out the (whatever med they wanted me to take)!" or a "heyyy, maybe you're a bit more intense because someone's knife is ripping the stitches off those unhealed childhood wounds, and you need to not be around people with knives (and put your own down for the love of God!)"

I think it'd be a really good idea for me to go back to journaling every day, and actually include plans vs what I did along with whatever thoughts/feelings I need to get out. I used to be able to look back and just say "oh, I was manic when I wrote this" or depressed or mixed or dissociated or just straight up being at various points of an emotionally dysregulated journey based on how much I wrote, what I wrote, and how I wrote it.

I thought you would talk about Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (BIS-11) | QxMD when I saw the thread's topic.

It is actually a very interesting scale for me. My responses vary wildly from line to line. In some ways I am impulsive and in others, not at all.

What is your score on this scale?

Seroquel 75 mg


Gabapentin 1200 mg+Vitamin B-complex (against extrapyramidal side effects)

Long term side effects from medications, some of them discontinued:
- hypothyroidism
- obesity BMI ~ 38

I had never heard of that scale! Thank you for showing me it!

Not sure what your day to day is like, but maybe with more structure it will be easier to identify periods of instability or impulsivity. The hard part is retracing ones emotional steps to find where it came from, in my opinion
