I am too far away to bring you a plate but I can mail some if I know where. Or transfer some money for you to buy it. Most stores deliver now.

Honestly you’d probably need some teeth before obtaining a high level job. Do you have any in the front? Speak to your health insurance what they could cover in terms of dentures. At least the basic

Oh you sit on it outside the tub and it moves you into the tub? If the mobility issue is medical, medical team would hep with that?

Are there soup kitchens around? I volunteered in soup kitchen at a shelter for years

. One shelter only served those who stayed there in a transitional housing (women and kids) but the other served anyone who walked in, no questions asked. There were people who came every time I worked so I assume they are there maybe daily. Food was truly nutritious and excellent. We ate leftovers ourselves after we were finished. Cook always wanted us all eat together at the end.

Not saying you just eat there daily but if you have no dishes and cannot cook or wash and cannot be in the kitchen , maybe once a week would be ok?

Is physical therapy an option for your mobility issues? What happened that causes you to have such issues? Definitely talk to your GP, like what was recommended.

I don't cook because I'm a lazy fck. My huband does, but when he's not home I eat simple foods, like oatmeal, baked potatoes (just stab them a few times and throw them in the microwave for six minutes), bananas, apples, walnuts, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, hummus dip, flaxseed, peanut butter, unsweetened almond milk, unsweetened ginger green tea... I'm so used to eating bland food anything too rich gives me diarrhea (sorry for the tmi).

Anyway, you don't even need to turn your oven on!

Oh, and rice is really easy to make. I just don't make it anymore because I always end up eating the entire cup, which isn't good. Lol. I go rice crazy!

I can use disposable dishes and a microwave it's again cost that provides that unattainable. If we buy microwaveable food we run out of EBT in less than two weeks vs 3 weeks. I've had pt, and ot my whole childhood until I went to college and some times between that. They won't approve at home pt through my insurance so that's out. I can do pre-cut bagels but I can't put anything like butter or cream cheese on them. I can and do drink smoothies.

I can't get in and out of the shower. I can't lift my leg high enough. Their solution is accessable housing which I've been trying to get for 2 years.
The movable shower chairs I can't use because of the arms. I'm sure my parents would buy a movable shower chair if they could get the money together. I hate asking them for things because I know they're stretched maybe when they sell their RV I'll ask.

No a job won't fix my food issue. It will pay for a PCA to meal prep or a meal kit or microwaveable meals.

I have front top teeth with cavities. The rest are broken. I've already talked to insurance they'll pay for pulls and local anesthesia but that's it. I need to be put to sleep for the procedure.

My medical team won't even pay for a wheelchair because it's not a 24/7 need. I'm on a wait list for a case manager to get a home health aide to help me in and out of the shower, embarrassing.

There are soup kitchens and I would have to use them if my husband or child wasn't around and I'd be able to get meals on wheels but as of right now I don't qualify.

This whole thread shows me how I've tried to get services and there are none for me. How deathly afraid I am of assisted living places. How much need money to place the things that I need for a quality of life. I need school. I need to secure a part time, remote job and that I can't rely on anyone.

The other option is to somehow take a $30k loan out and move in with my sister when Victoria moves out. Then we'd be 6 hours away from her then.

I don't see how you could take out a $30K loan without the resources to pay it back (and with interest too)?

We're just sayin', a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

A remote, part time call center job would earn you income in two weeks, not 4 years. I just called the pharmacy to change my profile to easy-flip caps. Who do you think did that for me?

Maybe you should look into law jobs. You are great at arguing and sticking to it. But in IT, you need an open mind. Only the computer is right - all humans are wrong, and its your job to figure out what is messed up and how / why - not just to insist you are right. Because the computer is the ultimate arbiter.

Have you and your family taken the Interest Inventory?

I think it’s cheaper to buy two plates and just alternate them. Cheaper than paper goods by far. Could you boil an egg? Boil pasta and put cheese on it? Is your stove working? Microwaveable food isn’t cheap.

Would Medicaid not pay for medical equipment for showering? If it’s doctor ordered. But if your husband also doesn’t work, he could help you for now. Did they determine why you can’t move your leg? Is it your hip? My husband couldn’t move his arm until he had shoulder surgery. It worked perfectly. Do you need surgery?

You could get a job without all these degrees, at least for now. 800 a month is a nice chunk of money. It will buy you plates, get a cleaner to fix your place and some other things you need. Dental care that insurance won’t cover?

If you have no income, no one will give you a loan

This whole thread convinces me you and your husband need to try voc rehab. It maybe isn’t working for V but that doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. They payed for my dental surgery and dentures. They work with you. Don’t cross them off because V is not clicking with them. From what you’ve wrote she doesn’t know what she wants. You and your husband have a plan. What’s to lose?

Absolutely. I’ve been saying it repeatedly. Because I know what they do.

They can help you to get a job and find appropriate education and teach you life skills how to function in the kitchen and teach how to call various services and they’ll do lots for you or with you.

Like if you have rats. How to call landlord and make him order pest control. How to make your place sanitary. And they’ll help to line up medical service. They pay for hearing aids, bus passes, they even buy you an outfit for interviews. Even if they do very little, they do more than nothing!
