So HUD told us after 3 weeks of calling and talking to them that they never got the paperwork to do the inspection. Could you tell us week 1-3 when we asked if you had everything. So we lost our moving assistance and had to reapply. In less than 3 weeks we have to vacate. We were supposed to move before then. Inspection happens tomorrow luckily but I don't think in the end they'll accept huds offer and how do we move without assistance? Now I'm stressed all over again just waiting. If they don't accept HUD offer I have to do an appeal and who knows how long that will take.

We don't know what will happen. We have just under 3 weeks. If the place gets approved tomorrow and they accept the offer then we have a place the first. We have already put in our notice and got a letter to vacate by the 31st. They've seemed to really sour on us since putting in notice. So I don't know what we will do. They've made it pretty clear they want the keys before noon on the 31st. With no leeway.

Last time I moved I was there 7 years. We moved from there due to safety, Florida doesn't like families with our demographics. We moved into the first apartment that would take us. Because we were homeless for almost 6 months. The time before that was 7 years also we moved because we wanted better opportunities for my daughter, warmer weather for me. Before that we were homeless for over a year due to a DV situation with housemates..... And it goes on like that.

We thought we'd be fine but when my husband had an emergency it was very clear I can't handle this apartment. Then when he left for 2 months it was even worse. We've been looking for an accessable unit since his hospitalization 2 years ago. We finally got the email for a lottery September/October and we've been trying to move in there since but we have to coordinate between affordable housing company, HUD, apartment complex, and moving assistance. Plus the movers and current apartment and coordinating all the normal things when moving.

Could you use the MSF assistance fund to replace your moving assistance or to help get through this in another way?

I might be able to use that fund but I want to keep it as a last option. Thank you for reminding me that I still have options.

So now HUD has until the 28th to approve the place or we don't get moving assistance. So fingers crossed they actually give us our paperwork this time.

HUD still hasn't given us our tenants share. They don't answer there emails or the phone. So I have no idea what is happening if anything. We have less than 2 weeks and every is up in the air. I hate our caseworker but I don't want to go over her head because I don't want anything done in retaliation. I have no idea what is happening and it's stressing me out which is making my symptoms worse.

I spent all the money we have already and EBT. I spent it all on food I could eat this week. Last of the groceries come at 6 and it won't last a week. No idea what I'm going to do. I'm scared, I'm hungry, and have no idea what to do. I have no boxes to pack. It's bad.

My parents are letting us borrow money after their bills are paid but we can't move in without huds approval. I'm trying to distract myself but I have such a short attention span like can't light a 3 wick candle short. We'll have two days to pack once I get next months check.

I'm so thankful my husband is on his way home tomorrow. I appear fine to everyone but I'm not.

And the inspection never happened. Next one is February 5. 6 days after we're supposed to vacate. If it doesn't pass or they're not let in we loose section 8. We're going to loose section 8 over this. I don't know what to do. We're homeless in about 10 day.

ETA: the apartment is letting us stay an extra month.

We lost the ADA unit. Our current apartment is letting us stay. I'm heartbroken.

So we got our 3 or 4th acceptance letter after our 3rd denial letter. Today, we had to write letters and send our letter from the Dr office so I have no idea what is going on.

If you can, allow your mind to prepare for the best as well as the worst. Hold onto that hope. Thoughts are with you.

Yes we've been denied and approved about 6x now. Been trying to get in since October. Our case was turned over because our housing specialist is away and they seem to be moving fast on it.

That is such a terrible thing to have undecided and up in the air. Do you have family you can stay with if need be?

So we signed the lease with no idea what is going on. We have to be out of here Friday morning. They change the locks at noon. We can't move in until the 1st. No idea about the movers, our rent share or anything else.

Got into the apartment. HUD still hasn't been fixed so we may get evicted. But we have a place for 2 weeks.
