I haven't heard of anyone who is bipolar and does not have some unresolved conflict with someone in their past.

I've never heard of any "normal" person who does not have some unresolved conflict with someone in their past.

I’ve never met anyone that hasn’t had some form of tragedy in their life. The most normal people I knew growing up was my Aunt, dad’s sister, and her family. They were my haven, I slept at home Monday through Thursday, but I lived there. They are the only people that I have met to date that the term “dysfunctional” does not apply.

I’ve modeled my own life around theirs. They had a happy home. They were not drinkers, when they were not working they were at home. They were actively involved in their kids (me included) school and social life.

What I find ironic is that stable home environment did not ensure that their sons’ had the same. Their youngest son met, fell in love with and married one of the most dysfunctional people you’ll ever meet in your life. They had two kids, she took off and he raised them. He did not learn his lesson and years later married another dysfunctional woman that made his children’s life terrible.
