I have been reading the posts here for the last few days before I finally decided to join the forums. Mainly because of the understanding and support you seem to give to each other, and not judgmental either way.

While I am not ashamed of my condition, and I am doing something about it. I have very little here in the way of a support group. My family is supported, my dad and younger brother, but don't think bro really understands. Though I try to explain it, but I really don't understand it myself.

The only thing I can think of, is for years I have masked my condition by always working, and just poured myself into my work when things got really bad. Though recently events as made it so that I can not longer do what I used to. I pretty much fall apart when stress hits.

I have been in an almost complete depressed state for least the last 4 months, with brief bouts for manic usually following a stress trigger or what not.

well I am starting to babble, and before I go completey off the subject, which I already have, I'll end this post.

I just hope, that I can give the same understanding and support to others, that I hope and pray I can get from you all.

Thanks you

Welcome dueNorth, I too am bipolar so I know what you go through. This is a good site to come to. It has helped me. I have a small support group but coming here increases it. Both my pdoc and T have told me to continue coming here. There are many nice people to meet here, I hope you continue posting and get many responses. Knowing that I am not alone in my struggle with bipolar has helped tremendously, you can find that here too. There is so many caring, loving people here. I hope you find this a good place to support you. Take Care, and I hope you start feeling better soon.

It is hard to find people who understand in your everyday life what it is like to have bipolar. That is why this forum is so great. Welcome and hope to hear from you in future.

Hi dueNorth,

Welcome to PC, this is a wonderful place to be. Mental health illness is nothing to be ashamed of. I'm sorry there are people in your life who don't understand what's going on. It is quite difficult when sometimes we don't understand ourselves. I have gained strength and confidence, as well as knowledge from our community. It has helped me to communicate with others more regarding my diagnoses.

Looking forward to seeing you around, and please PM me if you have any questions, or just wanna talk!

Take care,
Dee Hello
